I recommend Cartagena, Tayrona Park, Mompos, y Medellín. And well, you´re arriving in Bogotá already. All the places are north of Bogotá, so that should help you not waste too much time traveling around. Enjoy, but you should definitely stay longer.

Ok, maybe Elmo is not about the cheap booze (which I am cos Im poor). Darloup, you should be asking Elmo that, not me. I do see where he is coming from tho, sadly Colombia will eventually become a USA imitation, cos the west its our biggest influence. Sad, but true.

The verbs ser y estar are very hard to master, I would like to think your tutor is just trying to properly teach you the grasp the concept and speak proper spanish, cos, like most forum members that replied to this post, you could just use them in the incorrect situation or use the infinitive form of the verb and be over and done with. Miamimike, I beg to differ with your reasoning as to why Spanish is easier. Yes, the fact that is phonetic helps reading, but there are SO many more verb forms in Spanish to learn, along with all the rules, and exceptions to every rule there is (so it seems). But thats just the way I see it :)

Always ask the "hippies", that's what they call them in Colombia, they really are artisans that sell their handcraft in the street. That's usually the trick when traveling. Good luck.

You will NEVER EVER need a coat in Cali. A fleece or a jumper will suffice for the rainy days. Must mostly pack your spandex and speedos, t-shirts are optional down there. For sure.

In Vitro is on 7th and 59. On Tuesdays they play Colombian short films, so come early to check them out. Quiebra Canto it's on 4th and 17 (I think) get there early if you wanna avoid the queue.

Who cares indeed. When she was in the jungle people only seemed to care about getting her out of there, her failing health and how emanciated she looked. Sí, Cali está bien peligrosa ahora, pero tampoco! También está bien feita por lo del MIO. Y yo me vine pa Bogotá pero NO pa la Zona Rosa, es más detesto la Zona Rosa, para mi Chapinero, La Macarena y La Candelaria son lo más bacano de Bogotá.

A/C is not really a must in Cali. I wouldn´t say it's not considered hot, but a powerful fan will suffice. I was there about 10 days ago and I must admit the heat was melting me. I kept eating ice cubes. It may also be cos my thermostat is set to cold Bogotá. I personally love San Antonio, just walking all the way up to the church, at around 5pm, when the sun starts to go down, and then you get to watch the sunset up there. The breeze is amazing there as well. Can't comment on clubs, not a club goer meself. You MUST have a cholado in la novena avenue. MUST.

I must admit I do waste a lot of time on Facebook. So much I was actually considering disabling my account for a while, just so I could be more productive work wise... But I couldn't make myself do it, hehe. I think it's funny how I get so many friend requests from people I went to school with that weren't even my friends in school. At first I ignored them, but they were so persistent I just figured whatever. The weird thing is, if I bumped with them in the street I wouldn't say hi, I'd actually try and avoid them (I was quite the odd one out in school, go figure) but in Facebook, ah in Facebook you're all my friends! Wierd innit? Awww, I want to have HG on Facebook! She'd enjoy all my cat pics more than anyone else. And the yoga ones :)
