Thanks Bruce! Mom called Avianca in FLL all day and no call back from them..She left numerous messages with the baggage claim dept. Do you think it will help for her to call ASIG, or no? I would guess not as Aviance being the airline, any initiation of a claim would have to start through them right? Especially since they are over ASIG. BTW the baggage was sitting idle for a while in FLL. She arrived there at 3:00 and left for CLT at 7:00.

thanks Mike! It would have been Avianca because the bags were simply claimed in Ft.Lauderdale for mom to check them in with US Airways for the connection to CLT. I have actually just read a lot of reports online that Ft.Lauderdale has a high baggage theft claim rate so I suspect it happened there or in Bogota. No she didnt have them wrapped in all that plastic, but now I see why people go through the hassle of doing that!

Hi there guys! My parents used to travel a lot to Quita and Guayaquil when I was young for business and pleasure, obviously they flew.. We want to go to these cities? Is it feasible or worthwhile to go there by bus from one of the border towns? Just as in Colombia, you can go to any of the major cities/towns by bus, is this system similiar in Ecuador? Thanks!

Expat- I am from Cali and the city is like my second home-I get two weeks there and hubby only one as he doesn't have much vacation time. So I only have a week to show him my wonderful Colombia

He is a good ole country boy who would be just as content lounging by the pool sipping on a cold one. Me-I would rather explore parts of Valle that I am not familiar one. I enjoy sightseeing, parks, shopping, water sports, etc. Just about anything I am open to. He says he is open to whatever as long as it is safe..

I am having lipo in Cali this June. I have heard something about this recently from a family member there that said a 15 y/o girl had recently died from a staph infection after getting Lipo. All she wanted for her Quincenera was PS.
I thought this was possibly a once in a blue moon ordeal but looks like there is some suspicion for it not to be...

Via Cali Tulua Generally it is, als always bear in mind that Colombians drive like mad. The road is narrow (one lane until you get to Buga) and from there to Tulua it becomes two lane.

I am 25 (calena by birth) but very southern by nature as I grew up all my life...

I started on my MA in MH counseling but now have refocused my efforts on International Business as I am currently burn out with MH.

I would think that the market in Bogota is already flooded with social workers, at least that is what I heard from my cousin who resides there, another thing to consider is are you ready to give up the luxuries of our American lifestyle and settle earning about $200 a month versus the $45,000 + that you are worth here, more if you get licensed [LCSW]-I am sure you are already aware of these differences.. I have been through the dilemma myself.

How I would love to live with family in Cali instread of this rural a** Western NC but I live too comfortably here as a B.S. level counselor earning about 40 grand.

I downloaded a beutiful slideshow once that consisted of pictures mainly from Cali-including the city's founder statue and included some awesome aerial shots of the city. It came off of MSN's photo share site-but for some reason the search feature is no longer available and I no longer have that screensaver as that was saved on my old computer that "died".
