lanegrapaisa comments on Colombia 15k rings and Immigration (US Embassy) advice:

A couple of things sunshine: -I'm a bit hurt that you didn't mention me in your previous rant. -it's San Andres, NOT San Andreas. -Take a good look at that 9.3 and start treating her right, because once you fly across that border you’re going to drop from a 7.2 to a 4.8. The conversion rate does not favor American men in the States and if you don’t act like a grown man and stop “rating” her, you will soon find yourself posting a sale ad for that rock you bought.

lanegrapaisa comments on eeelena

Yes eeelena, still here in Medallo, thank God

lanegrapaisa comments on Abortion pill in colombia?

lanegrapaisa comments on Visa Documents, current or not

Thanks CG, will do

lanegrapaisa comments on Visa Documents, current or not

hehehe, deserved, I admit it. But apparently I am not only lazy but also can't write, because my question is not about the wait for the visa but the validity (sp) of the docs requested. Does it matter whether they were notarized yesterday or 6 years ago, on the USCIS page (which I actually did read once) doesn't really specify if they need to be current. Since in most cases one would think the birth information is permanent, I wanted to know if I could use those old docs.

lanegrapaisa comments on Yet another travel guide for Medellin...

I like the language, and the web site in general, nice colors, appealing and easy to navigate. Question: How do businesses get on list?

lanegrapaisa comments on lanegrapaisa

Thank you Cali_brahh, always the gentleman. ;)

lanegrapaisa comments on Small restaurant for sale in Medellin

Byron K, the restaurant is still available. Everyone else, please try and understand I don’t read all of the comments so if you are interested, I -once again - urge you to email the owner of the restaurant whose address you will find on the original post. I have replied to those who showed interest with some more info, however let me try and make this as clear as possible: This is a favor for a friend, I am not getting a cut out of the deal nor am I interested in doing so. I will gladly send you the info I have if you PM me but if you wish to know more please contact him directly because quite honestly I have work to do and unless you’d like to pay me to translate for you I cannot help you any further. I hope none of you think I’m being rude but honestly I don’t know how to get through to you, still if you do in fact need my services as a translator or interpreter I would be more than happy to help you and dedicate to you all of my time ( $8.5USD/hour, $0,07-0,10 USD / word).

lanegrapaisa comments on Small restaurant for sale in Medellin

I have e-mailed my friend requesting answers for all of the questions posted here, and I trust I will have them soon. So far all I know is he wants to sell because he is exhausted, he has other businesses as well as this one and he is overworked. He is always there (4pm-11pm) for those of you who speak Spanish, and for those who don’t just let him know (miming or signaling if you’re that bad) to call Lina, and I will be more than glad to help out. I truly appreciate all of your comments but I feel I should let you know, my question on whether the price was high or not, was one of a rhetorical nature, intended to pacify any inquiries about the price and financials of which I clearly know nothing about. Nonetheless I believe these forums are a good way to learn and help each other out, so please do carry on.

lanegrapaisa comments on Small restaurant for sale in Medellin

Hmm, just make sure you try just a drop of it, and DO NOT mix it with guaro! Too much for any stomach to handle; I’m personally not into that habanera unless I have a cold in which case is great to clear up all of my air ducts and then some.

lanegrapaisa comments on Small restaurant for sale in Medellin

Thanks for the Idea Miamimike, I hadn't thought of that Bickerss, I know they are really nice, but did you try that habanera hot sauce? OMG!

lanegrapaisa comments on Possibility of renting moped, scooter, motobike in Colombia for traveler?

I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question but what is the difference between a moped and a scooter?

lanegrapaisa comments on Estrato Snobs

You raise an interesting point August, and I believe it's all a question of goals; I'm not sure how long has this estrato system been in place but I know for a fact, when I was born my mom made my dad move to a better neighborhood because she wanted to improve her status and as most of you know, fair or not, the status and the estrato are pretty much seen as the same thing. Personally I like my neighborhood, but I wouldn't mind going down a couple of estratos in order to pay less on my utilities, because that whole status thing really means nothing to me.

lanegrapaisa comments on whale watching......there has to be a cheaper option !!!!!!!

Can't wrap your brain around it? Dude, This is how I make my living! you owe me like 10 bucks for that!, wait, I found it, Pablo Neruda.

lanegrapaisa comments on whale watching......there has to be a cheaper option !!!!!!!

I don't love you as if you were a rose of salt, a topaz or an arrow of carnations which spread the fire: I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul. I love you like the plant that does not bloom and carries within itself, hidden, the light of those flowers, and and thanks to your love lives in the dark within my body the pressed scent which rose from the earth. I took some literary liberties so the sonnet made sense; all fighting aside, who wrote that? it's beautiful.

lanegrapaisa comments on whale watching......there has to be a cheaper option !!!!!!!

hehehe, you crack me up dude, I don't know whether to love you or kick your butt.

lanegrapaisa comments on looking for someone that has not posted in a while

Me?, hehehehe, not at all, let's just say my job allows me the pleasure of being in the company of foreigners (not I'm not a prepago), and I always try to tell them about the little cultural differences before they get berated by a stranger; slamming the door being at the top of my list of course.

lanegrapaisa comments on looking for someone that has not posted in a while

LMAO, YES! YES!, I forgot about the door slamming!

lanegrapaisa comments on looking for someone that has not posted in a while

Gotta side with Papi here boys, most paisa men I know and I do mean MEN, ride shotgun. Unless of course, they are one of those guys who love to answer their cellphones at the bank so everyone knows what powerful beings they are, you know, kinda like some gringos I've seen around here, walking around with their child brides and taking out a huge wad of money just to pay for some gum.

lanegrapaisa comments on Estrato Snobs

I'm sorry, I just stumbled onto this post, and though I might know nothing of the almighty North American culture, are you telling us that in a land infamous for its continuous yet ever changing discrimination towards all that's different, there is no problem with someone from the wrong side of the tracks befriending one born with a silver spoon? Wake up and smell the aguapanela (look it up), there's snobs everywhere not just here. There are parts of town where I would be afraid to drive through and that doesn't make me a bad person, just like foreigners thinking everybody is out to get them doesn't make them idiots. My mom always asked me where my friends lived because she worried about my safety when I went to visit them ( I get lost very easily). In your cousin's case, I hope she told that lady off, only people who climb the ladder without effort look down upon those still climbing.

lanegrapaisa comments on PBH SCAM!!!

I got it too, and it's a shame but at least they're resourceful little F%^&*rs, you know?

lanegrapaisa comments on A warning to those who wire money to Colombia

August: Please, read and understand what we are telling you. We only try and make fun because truth hurts, I haven't seen your profile or read anything else about you but I assume you're a good enough guy looking for love, like most of the gringos (once again, not a derogatory term) I meet every day. Walk away dude, maybe it's just me, but I would never ask a boyfriend for money, that is a surefire way to screw up a relationship. PLEASE THINK ! "cuando el rio suena, piedras lleva" look it up if you want, VERY loosely translated it means "where there's smoke , there's fire". This is a warning for all of you: A REAL woman, no matter where she's from, will never rely on a man for money. She works and takes her of herself. Appreciates gifts from the man in her life but would never ask for them. She wants you to support her in her decisions not make them for her; and last but not least a real woman wants you to be her companion, not her savior. If you don't believe me, then read the stories posted here, of the gringos who gave their woman all she could ever want and how she ended up with some broke ass Colombian. Be her friend, her accomplice, not her freaking ATM, and you will have her always.

lanegrapaisa comments on whale watching......there has to be a cheaper option !!!!!!!

Excuse me? first of all my parents were in advertising, and the money I spend is my own; I don't need my parent's or anyone's money (a.k.a. some love struck foreigner) to pay my way. I just feel sorry for those who, in spite of having money, feel the uncontrollable need to watch every penny. As I wrote before, life is too short; money comes and goes, but true friends and breathtaking experiences are few and far between. And as for my countrymen? they are glad I don't count every penny, I am a true Colombian, I pay for my maid and get things delivered, my laziness creates a job for those who don't have one. So sue me! oh wait, you can't, LMAO!!!! Welcome to colombia primo!

lanegrapaisa comments on A warning to those who wire money to Colombia

LMAO, tinto, you're absolutely right!, they were three tasty, well behaved men with dwarfism who rode a bike with a sidecar.... must have been a sight to see, eh?

lanegrapaisa comments on whale watching......there has to be a cheaper option !!!!!!!

OMG! I was born in the third world and I live in it and yet I wouldn't mind shelling out the 1.5 million for such a wonderful sight. You only live once man. Loosen up the purse strings and relax your sphincter, money goes away, but memories last a lifetime.

lanegrapaisa comments on A warning to those who wire money to Colombia

LMAO, I bet you all the money in my bank account, your girl and the three stooges are drinking a bottle of guaro in your name right now. No woman gets robbed by 3 men, it's 2 at the most and that's only if one of them is driving the getaway bike. Godspeed to you my friend and as I always try to let you guy know, let the blood flow back into your brain before you send money or believe any of these cockamamie stories. Jesus Murphy, do men ever learn?

lanegrapaisa comments on MIAMED

lanegrapaisa comments on English Instruction, Medellin, 'Foreign Woman' Scam?

Dude, DO NOT SEND HER MONEY!. I know whereof I speak. If she really wants to study English she can do it online at EL SENA for free!. Please don't become yet another statistic, another gringo who lets his little head do the thinking and then goes off to talk about the black magic woman who did him wrong.
