Car & driver referral for Bogota?

Thanks very much for those of you who responded to my previous post re advice on driving in Bogota. I'll take my cue from the majority and stick to taxis and buses this time around... love challenge & adventure but don't think I need to be getting my rush from driving the streets of Bogota by the sounds of it. Advice on driving in Bogota - rental cars and insurance

I'll be visiting Colombia for the first time next week and plan on staying in Bogota for a few days at the end of my trip. My boyfriend (Colombiano) would prefer to rent a car while we are there, however, I would be responsible for all of the driving as there's some issue with his replacement license. Am I crazy to even consider this? I live in a big city and driving around it doesn't intimidate me... more frustrating than anything. I've also had experience driving in some U.S. cities like NY ...
