Help needed: moving to Colombia

Hey everyone, I got a few questions concerning my plan to move to Colombia in August. After seeing eachother multiple times in Europe and Colombia my girlfriend and I finally decided to live together. Since I can never offer her the same quality of life here in Europe, it was only logical that I would move to Colombia. My plan is to go to school (uni?) to perfectionize my Spanish. Just booked my ticket to Bogota, flying there the 7th of April and staying one month. No need to say Im excited. Di wants to take me to La Guajira, she says its wonderfull. Anyone been there? I appriciate any info or feedback about that place (photos stories the good the bads).

The reason I visited Colombia is a long story. But Im gonna keep it short for you. When I was backpacking Asia five years ago I met a Colombian Seb on a world trip. We got along well and travelled a fair bit together.

Later when he got to Europe he stayed at my place and I promised him to go and visit him some day in his country. We stayed in touch and this year I finally booked the ticket and arranged my trip. No need to tell how excited I was. I didnt really make any preparation ...

Just got back from Colombia and already looking for a ticket to go back in a couple of months.

Easily now in my top 3 countries Ive ever been to. I was lucky to already know some people there but I met so many new people and experienced things I wouldnt believe if someone told me. I will try to put more pics on and write a tripreport once I get my act back together SISAS.

Hey everyone

First of all, I want to say this is a great forum, really usefull. To my understanding there are two kinds of travellers who visit Colombia. Older men who are fond of the local ladies, and backpackers. I know this is a bit of a generalisation but looking at several boards, websites, thats the impression that I got.
