Kata comments on Teaching English in Colombia Teaching English in Colombia for TEFL Practicum Credit I am trying to help out my nephew who is finishing a BA in English in the US and will be taking courses for TEFL. They need to do a practicum and I am suggesting he do it in Colombia. Does anyone know of any accredited courses/Universities that would oversee a TEFL practicum? Another thought would be any Colombian Universities that have TEFL/ESL programs with partner Universities in the US, so that the credit is more easily recognized? He would be particularly interested in Cartagena or Manizales.

Kata comments on Looking to buy appliances, good beds/mattresses, furniture in Cartagena Thanks for the info. I actually have several appliances here that I would love to ship but I live in the Washington DC area and the prices I have gotten quoted for shipping from here to CTG are around $7500 for a 20ft. I don't really have the luxury of going to Miami and handling it all there because of time. If you have any names of good companies that might be cheaper, let me know. I could basically equip an entire kitchen and ship several mattreses with what I have here.

Kata comments on Search: Furniture, fixtures, etc in Cartagena Cartagena furniture I did buy a house. Thanks for the information. Friends (from Cartagena) who live there are looking into having it made. However, sometimes it is clear that considering the price of wood and then the (cheap) costs of labor, it is sometimes cheaper to buy something at an IKEA-like store and bring it. Sad but true.
