kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Dar(n) PBH is a Yawn the last few days MaBarker says on Nov 21, 2009, 06:42 (today): flag kat, the OP, luck4unme, is asking for ways 'to reconcile our differences', i think this is an excellent start. exactly, i personally don't have quarrels with anyone so i am asking all of you, how are you going to reconcile the difference with darloup and others. It seem to me on this thread that again people is attacking him so the way I am seeing it, is that "asi como vamos no vamos a llegar a ningun pereira" as we say in Colombia. BTW luck4forunme, we moderators never everare going to make everyone happy.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Colombians arround the world babygirl says on Nov 20, 2009, 21:59: flag Oh my LORD Mitch... you just scared the heck out of me. kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Dar(n) PBH is a Yawn the last few days you see where this thread is heading again, why some of you just don't copy and paste the same replies you do in similar threads. That why this is soooooooooooo boring. instead of wasting your energy on darloup, why don't you better contribute in posting something fun. I don't care about darloups emails and also i think it is a lack of respect and integrity to show something that someone has written to you in confident, that show also what type of person are you, resorting to this type of attack you are not any good either. what are you trying to achieve I wonder? can we just move on and those who hate darloup, move on, don't lose sleep over this.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Davalos twins of Medellin...amazing beautiful twins indeed, but esanch those booties have been photoshop big time, in one they almost deleted the line. :) And you can see they made them a little plumpler

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Dar(n) PBH is a Yawn the last few days well that is their problem, if they can't learn to ignore people then they should not be on the net. I hope when sign ups are open again we will get new people, fresh people, not the same ones, with the same things. this darloup thing is getting really boring!! and also if is not darloup then they will pick on someone else they don't like, they have to learn to let it go or to ignore it. So just because of darloup they can't be fun? come on.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V Webmanco I am not saying she is wrong, but also I am not wrong either, she as Colombia should know that we called V, V pequeña. Haddeman says on Nov 19, 2009, 06:19 (today): flag I have noticed that in Colombian consulates and other institutions the staff are generally very rude and patronising to their fellow Colombians but generally nice to foreigners ,why is this? Because they work with the goverment they think they have power, o como decimos por alla, "se creen la vaca que mas pea". at the end I was taking to her a bit rude so she changed the tone.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V In the Spanish alfabet we say V not UV.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V jcf says on Nov 19, 2009, 04:11 (today): flag I've heard "uv" many times in Colombia as in "Te veo a bey bey uvey ah [the bank BBVA] a las 3." I didn't think it was correct Spanish, either. But FWIW, I've been assured by a couple of very literate Colombians that it is. Some Colombians have told me it sounds childish or uneducated to say "b de burro" or "v de vaca" while some say it's fine. Others have said the correct way to distinguish between B & V is to pronounce Vey with a strong English V sound. I use the latter and it works for me. jcf as I said, because we pronounced V and B the same we usually said, con V de vaca or B de burro, this is very common in Colombia.there is the ocasion that someone said UV, then it comes the joke that tropicalshirt said above osea tu dices uvaca?
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V As I said I know in Spain they called it UV
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V i was taugh as V , I have heard UV but not often, in school was alway V.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V It's the same with the letter "W" many or the majority in Colombia will say " double V" but some will say "doble U". I was taught at school to say "doble V"
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V Pman, usually in Colombia if you want to spell something that have the V in it, you will say V pequeña, so people won't confuse it with the B, as we colombians pronounced V and B the same. Either people say V pequeña or V de Vaca. but hardly UV.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V Oh she really made me lost it, i told her my surname was *carrillo* (not my real surname but similar spelling) and she said, with T?, i told her where do you hear a T there. what an unpleasent lady, i was so angry.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on How do you call the letter V Exactly Ex, many Colombians called it V pequeña, but this lady at the embassy was sarcastically correcting me! . I told her, all my life I have been calling V, ve pequeña, not UV, I know people from Spain called it, UV, but not Colombians.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Senorita Colombia was chosen for special reason She looks like a lot of Sandra Borda Caldas, past Miss Colombia (1984) and also from Bolivar

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Question about usage of "Mi Corazón" you can tell her, te quiero, te adoro y te meto en el inodoro heheh
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Question about usage of "Mi Corazón" OFYM like you have said there are exceptions, she is from Bogota and her parents are just like her, calling everyone mi amor or mi vida. P/C/L really dammint I missed the signal Lol. nah, I know they are doing it just as friendship.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Question about usage of "Mi Corazón" I have a friend in Bogota and she calls everyone mi amor, I think people from Bogota tend to call everyone Mi amor, mi Corazon etc. I have a male friend and everytime he writes to me is Hola cariño, but I see it as a friendly hello, nothing else.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Evolve or DIE. I am looking forward for the changes :) we have to improve the site and if this is the way to go, let's give a try.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Finding Peace in Colombia Darloup but that is a site, miamimike means brochures, guides, something you can pick on bookstore. I actually agree with him there have not been anything like it, Just now the organization Colombia es Pasion is doing something about, but before this was non-existance and still it is a bit difficult to find a brochure about Colombia.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Miss Colombia - Bikini parade photos I don't know but IMO, this year contestants are not as pretty as the years before, they are very simple, the only one I think is very pretty is Miss Meta.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Airline pricing - am I missing something?! usually single fares are more expensive.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Finding Peace in Colombia maybe she should have done that Darloup, but I think with all that bad image Colombian has, it is bound for many new travellers to Colombia to think they are going to be kidnapped as soon as they land at the airport, just like the film Clear and Present danger.

kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Cedula, Army card ( Libreta militar) well, as far i know, no. but I will ask in the embassy next time we go to get his Libreta and will let you know.
kat1 (Moderator) (Trustee board) comments on Cedula, Army card ( Libreta militar) viajero123 (☼Travelguide writer) says on Nov 13, 2009, 16:57: flag "It's been a year since I applied for the new cedulas for my son and I and also for his libreta militar and so far nothing have arrived" Kat, a friend of mine just turned 18, but he's think that by applying for his cedula and Libreta Militar at the London consulate because he will be drafted into the army. How did your son get around this? Viajero first of course he has to applied for dual nationality, if he was born in the UK, if he already has the dual nationality like my son, he needs to apply for the cedula, after obtaining the cedula. then he can apply for the libreta militar, he needs to take the cedula, his birth certicate , his British passport, and two photos, which are different in dimension from the passport photos, the embassy have an "special place" near the embassy which they use to take this type of pictures, so is better if he goes there to be in a safe side, ( they are very fussy about this photos) Also he has to pay 115 USD to the Tesorería Dirección de Reclutamiento y Control Reservas, and bring the receipt to the embassy.
