A couple of years ago I ditched Colombianblog after being hounded by the politically correct moderators and after having had enough of a particular poster's racist comments. Nobody would call her out on it except me and even though I received a lot of private email in support, no one supported me publicly. Well, after many years on PBH, it's time to say to hell with it. The moderators have had a continued vendetta against me and refused to take action even against the lowest of the low. They ...
I was looking at real estate on the web and I came across this ranch for sale in Cordoba: http://www.compra-venta.org/colombia/anuncio.phtml?anuncio=290807 Here they are asking $3.2 million for a 2000 acre ranch. Heck I can spend the same or less money and get a place in the western US that's just as big. Plus I don't have to worry about security or any of the other typically Colombian problems that go with life there. I just don't get it. ...
There is a certain poster who refers to me as J-ass. Shall I retaliate? You whine about how the site is full of rancor but it is YOUR fault! Yes, I am talking to you. Enforce the frigging rules or don't complain when we take matters into our own hands. ...
Looks like the Colombian peso is at 1968 to the US dollar and strengthening. How come I haven't been hearing a lot of gringo whining about the declining US dollar? Where are all those guys who kept saying that it was going to decline in value and go back towards 3000? I don't know what it's going to do in the short term but in the long run we're looking at 1500 and beyond. ...
The New York Times had an article in the Travel section about Tayrona National Park and I thought this comment was interesting: "Lorenzo, a Kogui Indian from the adjacent Sierra Nevada mountain range, had recently moved his family into the park to take advantage of an explosion of tourism in this former war zone. Now he was selling the juice of the maracuyá fruit, and posing for photographs for tourists at 2,000 pesos, or about $1, a snap. “The government tried to throw us out, but they ju ...
Gringos are always looking for business ideas that they can use to make money in Colombia. I finally came up with one while surfing the web. It turns out that plenty of guys out there are sick motherf*ckers like me and love to smell used women's panties. There are even sites that sell these used panties but you can never be sure whether they're authentic or you're getting some old ladies panties. So here is the idea: sell the used panties of hot young Colombianas. Maybe along with their pic and ...
One of my sisters-in-law is named Cecilia and everybody refers to her as Checho or La Checho. My wife says this is a nickname for Cecilia. Meanwhile in Texas the Latina Cecilias that I know, go by Ceci as their nickname. They are perplexed by the use of Checho and claim that they never heard of it as a nickname for Cecilia. What's the deal on this? Is it a South American thing? Does the word "checho" have any other meaning? ...
I just don't get it. On this site (as in real life) you'll always hear Colombians pissing, moaning and bitching about how much they hate living in the US and how much they want to go back to Colombia. They sound like Texans actually because everything is bigger, better, faster, nicer, prettier in Colombia than where ever they are now in the US. They'll go back to Colombia to visit for a couple of weeks but then they're back. With more whining and bitching. But who forced them to come back? My q ...
Got the word that people are being laid off at Coltejer's textile plants in Itaqui and being replaced by third party contractors.
