Thanks to Aztec , Wasteland , Viewpoint and the many others for their advice or warning on investing in Colombia , all the info was true as far as the nightmare with the patrimony and windfall taxes ....Also as far as banking hang it up as of April you have to of lived there the previous 6 months to open up a new account and than you need your life history even if you have a cedula and you are from colombia WOW !..My wife was told at first that because she had not lived there the previous 6 mon ...

A sa far as the income levels go - is the amount for the poverty level for the specific year ? such as say a family of 4 needs 25k for 2006 but only 20k for 2005 ...so as long as your 2005 tax return says 20k you are ok ???- thanks ...

hi , we got through the k1 process and married a week ago .we re now in the process of getting the paperwork ready to mail out this week for her AOS ...question is since we are now married do we wait for her temporary green card in a couple months to apply for her socil security card or can we apply now - we were told at the clerks office when we filed the marriage license we could apply now .... would appreciate any advice thank you . ...

For anybody worrying about dr. roa we used him and had no problems just as member FLALEO said also .. he explained to me the whole process and the exam took about 3 minutes with me behind the screen and a nurse present with him .there of course were many many other woman there also and i did not see anyone upset .. ...

i had got a letter over the weekend saying our packet 3 had been mailed out october 13th .so we figured after 2 weeks it was lost ...so we downloaded the forms off the el salvador site and sent them dhl this morning of course when my fiance returns there is the packet 3 - the diffrence is we sent in the ds-2001 but the packet 3 had the of-156 istead of the ds-2001 ....should we resend the packet 3 with the correct forms we got today -- thanks ...

at what point do they send anything to my fiance in COLOMBIA .i got an rfe friday and i used an attorney so i know it should get mailed to my lawyer ....but my fiance said her neighbor said somebody tried to deliver a package of papers today but would not leave it or any information how to contact them as she just moved yesterday and she was not expecting anything else .........i did not think she would be getting anything untill after it was approved and mailed to the embassy colombia ...thank ...
