jinksmiester comments on whats up in santa marta?

ive done santa marta and rodadero quite a bit in the past...ya rodadero can get a bit noisy but i sleep well regardless..(.probably the sun and beer).i won,t tent it though...i,ll be hunting for a furnished apartment as i,ll be bringing my daughter...2 yrs old.i think i paid about 120 mil col for an apartment right on the beach last year per night...not to bad and big enough for about 10 people which we needed as we had family along.i exspect to be down there about mid jan for a week or so and i,ll be breaking up the rest of my time in col with time spent in BQ and cartegena or wherever else the spirit takes me...be in col for 5 weeks...lots of time for a tan and cold beer.

jinksmiester comments on Citibank bank machines in Bogota giving out fake 50,000 bills

its a pretty crappy deal when bank owned bank machienes are spitting out counterfit cash. You would exspect they would have a system in place to catch bogus bills before loading up atms for the general public. But then again i imagine its a lot less profitable to give out real cash when you can have the machienes set up to spit out bills that are worth less than ass wipe.ive exsperienced the same thing with 20mil bills in the past....i have to wonder if the banks are,nt part of the scam.

Regardless of what i would pay buying tickets in colombia ( in any form of payment) the different prices based on where you live(paying on line) is a tough thing to swallow and stinks of a money grab.In the past ive booked numerous times on the colombian site (had a pin no) using my canadian c.c. so as far as bieng worried about fraud thats bull as im a repeat customer. If someone could PM me an address to complain to i will.i will inform them that because of these practices i will no longer use there airline for my national or international flights. As i travel as a family man i usually buy a minimum of three tickets usually four return...international and national every time i travel usually a few times a year so if they are flying with empty seats i hope they can remember some of the customers they used to have.If enough people refuse to use there airline it can have an effect.

jinksmiester comments on

This is definitly B/S...a screw job. questions...if i wish to buy a national flight while in colombia and i go to avianca is the price going to be different if i pay with a canadian c.c. as opposed to cash?....or will i be gouged simply because im not colombian?....or will i pay the fare on avianca,s colombian website?

jinksmiester comments on We can do something about Avianca

That is ripoff...major

jinksmiester comments on Missing Person (Tom73b) - Help if have any info

I have some family and friends in barrranquilla and santa marta....not that its likley to help but i will forward the photo of your brother.I have to agree with other posters here that its strange and NOT on the norm that his bride to be would not meet him at the airport.Id be asking WHY she would,nt have met him.First confirm that he actually arrived there and then go from there...i,ll be hoping for the best.. kudo,s for those of you down in colombia`who are trying to help out....im sure its`appreciated and could possibly make all the difference.....way to go guys!!

jinksmiester comments on We can do something about Avianca

Hey pathdave...i just tried the same thing....tickets from miami to BQ.. first on the colombian portal of avianca and then on the u.s. portal.....same price when money converted ( within pennys).

jinksmiester comments on Colombianadas

your right kat...i was looking at the restaurant name..chicken wagon....never thought look at the dinner plates....good laughs!

jinksmiester comments on Colombianadas

So they ate chicken at the last supper....hmmm..i never knew that..lol

jinksmiester comments on

Don,t stop eating...you need fluids.....something easy on the guts...chicken noodle soup or other soups with pure agua.No dairy products/milk eggs etc...good luck

jinksmiester comments on

Go to a doctor...don,t wait. Be aware that something you eat that might make you sick will have no effect on a colombian whose immune system (guts of cast iron) is different from yours.A buddy of mine had all the syptoms you had and procrastinated 3 days before going to the doctor...he took antacids and herbal remedys. By the time he went to the doc he could barely walk and spent a day in hospital sucking up 5 iv bags of lost fluids and then spent another 3 days in bed till he got feeling a little better.(don,t wait that long). He too had a presciption for that powder but other pills (antibiotics)as well.Perhaps that powder is an antibiotic but if not id get to a doc and get some to make sure you kill that bug.

jinksmiester comments on Hangover remedies

if you are really sick dill pickles and dill pickle juice. The acid in the pickles neutralizes the acohol in your body. They also taste the same hung over or sober.Try it....it works but you might need a few pills if your head is sore.

jinksmiester comments on kind of sad story.....

The daughters are possibly trying to pull your friend back into the relationship...(papi may or may not be encouraging them to do that). If they are teenagers they are probably past the i need a mommy stage and are (possibly)simply bieng opportunists. There is nothing wrong with maintaining a (friendship) with these girls but if there is no relationship with papi she needs to spell that out to them and set the boundrys (as in im not your mommy just a friend)....might be easier to just cut the strings and move on along.Your friend needs to evaluate the friendship and how far she is willing to go with it (when these girls are in need can she or does she wish to be a friend indeed?) Time will tell if she maintains contact and friendship. If they are playing on her feelings in the hope of personal gain ...monetary or other it will come out.If they can and do accept her as a friend they won,t put her in that situation. If she does end up bieng asked for money (for whatever reason) my bet is she will be asked again and again if she forwards it. You know this anyhow babygirl...thats my 2 cents......errr... i mean colombian peso,s

jinksmiester comments on my colombian worker who did NOT return to colombia when her work visa expired.

GIVERS Be kind to the person you meet on the street regardless of colour or creed Give hope to the child that lay in despair and warmth in its hour of need. do not look down upon other or place yourself above for vanity is the dream of fools and does not know how to love better to be a giver than to think of only you for the takers are often manny and the givers are often few the world has had enough of hate and enough of racists too what it needs is people with open hearts and eyes that see the truth for if we leave a future for our children down the road will it be one where there taught to hate or will we carry each others load will we stop and see that other may have had a life thats hard for no one knows there hand in life till they are dealt the cards better to be a giver than just take what we can get better to kneel and lend a hand than to walk away and forget No one knows what life may hold or when things may go astray but would,nt you rather meet a giver than a taker on that day?

jinksmiester comments on my colombian worker who did NOT return to colombia when her work visa expired.

I reported what has happened to immigration...now im done with it.What happens with her is out of my hands.Im not going to dwell on it....life is to short to let little inconvienences and bull s##t spoil even a single day...its done.Unfortunatley i won,t in the future try to bring any other forien workers from colombia to canada either..(other than family)even though im sure some are deserving.I do take some satisfaction...even though it was not respected or appreciated in the fact that my intentions were honest and genuine in seeking an opportunity for a person they otherwise would have never had.To those of you who said i should send her packing in my last post...well ..im man enough to say you were right and i was wrong to exstend more goodwill by having her stay any longer...she did,nt deserve it....there won,t be a next time.I do never the less learn from this and in the future...even though it goes against every bone in my body(thats the hard part) i,ll be less helpful to those i feel could use a hand along lifes journey...if they are down and out and in the gutter i won,t look and they will have to stay there...but damn..for me that really is difficult.I once came across a fellow laying in the street in barranquilla that looked like he was almost dead ..in obvious pain...he was nude from the waste down and had a hemroid (i know that sounds gross)about the size of a baseball on his rear end...there he was just laying in the sreet while people steped around him like he did,nt exist. It was more than i could stand...i got a cab and had him hauled to a hospital ...spent 150,thou col on him and never knew him or even spoke to him...do i regret that....no i don,t...you win some you lose some...i won that one...

jinksmiester comments on my colombian worker who did NOT return to colombia when her work visa expired.

Sadly i could not accompany her on the plane and she bolted in toronto during a flight change.Im not resonsible for her actions...i did not sponsor her.(thats not the way a temp work contract works).the contract was by the book and approved by the goverment here...and i certainly did not take advantage of her.The oposite...gave her a chance. I think it unlikley i will ever bring another person from colombia to work here...id be exspecting the worst now.The thing is that if she had been civil and not a fool about this i would have worked towards her returning...now there is no chance.I think it will be hard to find another job without canadian id of any sort and if a company cuts her a poaycheque it will raise alarm bells as she has no social insurance no.As far as her trying to say she was mistreated i don,t think that would fly and i have lots of staff who could verify thats not the case...in fact she was paid over and above her contract. Im not so sure they would,nt extadite her either if they one day find her...had an american work for me that got extradied for no visa so if they will extradite an american they can certainly do itto someone else. i,ll simply report whats happened and put the cabosh on my colombian work program....

jinksmiester comments on Getting Married in Canada while on a student visa?

you can apply for a spousal visa in canada but if her visa exspires she will be in canada illegal without a visa (no way she will get a pr visa in 3 months).Im not sure if immigration would let her stay or not as technically she has no visa...but perhaps bieng its getting processed they would let her stay.Im sure however that if she left the country she would be screwed till she got that pr visa to return....I married in colombia and brought my wife to canada...all legal and above board no problem...took 8 months for the entire ordeal to get the pr visa...no interview required as we had lots of proof of a genuine relationship.....best of luck however you go.

jinksmiester comments on is the unemployment rate high in colombia ?

Speaking of spam....when i was kid and we did,nt have much money my ma would whip up some spam burgers......mmmmm mmmm.. nah....just kiddn....I think i,ll take his advice though and send out emails trying to sell cans of spam....that way i can spam everyone twice with each email...i,ll be the spam master ..the King of chichen and or beef and or mechanically deboned turkey and or anything else that can be scaped up off a slauterhouse floor....mmmm....now thats my kind of spam. id eat that spam before id swallow this ...If anyone needs to be locked out of pbh its this stuff for sure.DELETE por favor

jinksmiester comments on Financing propery in colombia...dealing with banks

Thanks for the info ..everyone.Im thinking id be better off arranging money on this end ( canada) and paying cash.A loan rate of 15% doesnt sound like the way to go...expecially when i could borrow here (mortage rates under 3 % right now)Even if i took a personal loan id still be miles ahead.Getting cash to colombia sounds like its been a pain in the ass for some posters on pbh.Im curious though....i have credit cards available with enough credit available i could buy a house in colombia on my credit card ...curious if a person could make payment through a bank that way and not have to worry about wiring and transfering through banks from canada to colombia.Certainly id have to let my credit card bank know ahead of time of the transaction or it would set off alarms im sure. But if i could do it that way i could make payment on the credit card here in canada anytime after the purchase.Funny thing...i can actually borrow on a credit card cheaper than i can from a bank in colombia..no wonder they are making huge profits...they are loan sharks.

jinksmiester comments on

Ive heard a lot of colombian woman complain its difficult to find a (faithful) colombian man. From what ive heard (sorry if this offends anyone) colombian men do not have a good reputation with the woman in colombia. That said im sure there are good colombian men just as there are also good american or north american woman. In any event my wife and i married for love...she has no desire to pursue a colombian man and i have no desire to pursure a north american woman. The previous boyfriend my colombian wife had in colombia was cheating on her with both anouther woman and a man...(he liked to swing more than one way.He sent her emails about a year back (my wife told me and showed me) saying how she was his true love and he still loved her. The idiot has 4 children with two different ladys in colombia already(no support for them) and obviously thinks only of his own wants.I know of some colombian men who have bragged to me they have 4 or 5 ladys on the go...i can,t imagine all colombain men are that way but id bet my last two cents ( or colombian pesos) that infidelity in colombia is higher than in north america.I have friends (married men) in colombia and the impression i get from them is that its not a big deal if they cheat (and they do at every opportunity) on there wives.I also know if men who have more than one family and for all intents more than one wife and some colombian woman seem to accept that.Call me old fashioned but i believe my relationship is worth more than that even when my married friends have pushed ladys (very beautiful ladys)at me saying my wife does,nt have to know ive turned that away...My wife deserves better than that and i exspect more from her than that. Before i was married i had a spat with my wife as she wanted to borrow some money off me that at the time i thought was unreasonable...angered i visited numerous atms over two days and i put pile of cash in front of her (way more than she asked for).. (about 40 million colombian) and told her to take it and use it and that i was leaving but she could have that if that is what is important to her but that i am not rich and can not afford to give that away. I said go ahead and take it if you want but you will never see me again then i left the apartment i was staying at. When i returned several hours later she was still in the apartment and so was all the money...she wanted me know she was with me for me not for money..Thats when i knew i had the right lady in my life. I was not some goof that jumped off a plane and got married in two weeks...i spent about a year and half getting to know colombia ..the culture..and family before tieing the knot.We married for happiness and love and my wife is one fantastic lady that i trust completly (as she does me)..that i feel very lucky to have in my life.

jinksmiester comments on a simple question for Canadians

NO....but never asked for it either.

jinksmiester comments on Do I need to send my marriage certificate to Bogota for an "apostille"?

My wife had her documents translated in colombia too for immigration canada...definitly save some dinero doing things that way.

jinksmiester comments on difficult being married in Colombia if you are a divorced Canadian

Im a divorced canadian with children from a previous marraige and married my now colombian wife in colombia so it can be done. The big thing is to do your homework first and know whats required as far as documents, translations and what needs appostilla.Once you know whats required thats half the battle.I agree it almost seems like there are road blocks put up and hurdles to leap through but with my wife it was worth it and certainly nice to be wed in colombia where family and friends could attend. 6 weeks is plenty of time to get your documents in order and what needs appostilla and translation done but you need to get on it if you are having a colombian wedding. If in doubt about whats needed talk to the notery who will handle the wedding..and talk to the colombian consulate in canada about what you need so its legal in canada and colombia. Immigrating my wife to canada(PR VISA) took 8 months from the time i started and that is about the best time frame you could hope for.For that you do a sponsorship and you do have to show earnings income tax statements etc to the canadian goverment.... if you make child support payments you can,t be in arrears....in other words if you are have not been financialy responsible and cared for your own canadian children you won,t be considered as bieng someone they trust to be responsible for your wifes nesscesitys..i agree and can understand that Some people it may take longer for a pr visa...having all they need in the pachage and proof its the real mccoy is about the only thing that will help speed things up...miss something in the pachage and it can add months to processing time.I don,t think its a whole lot faster for an american to bring a colombian wife to the u.s. A friend of mine (American) used immigration lawyers that cost him substantailly and was almost two years bringing his wife to the u.s. He ended up getting married twice as well because he did,nt do his homework and the first wedding was not recognized as legal in the u.s....anyhow...best of luck to you.

jinksmiester comments on Infant Death in Colombia

Doctors screw up everywhere giving birth to new borns...i thought for a while my wife might loose our baby giving birth .There was no reason (other than impatience on the hospitals part) for the scare we got put through.Everything was going fine, baby bieng monitored, no problem, wife dialating when they decided to try and speed it up and broke her water. All of a sudden the baby is in duress and heart beat for the baby is all over the place...then they are pumping water back into her to replace the water they removed.Next its a big rush to get the baby delivered....all because they were in a hurry they put our child at risk.Im thinking i come to the hospital with a healthy full term baby and no problems and because of impatience on the hospital and doctors part we might loose the baby.Rest assured that if that had happened id surley have been looking to sue the ass off them for incompetance.Waiting for a child to arrive for 9 months and having that happen would have been difficult to accept exspecially when there was no reason for it. In the end our baby daughter arrived safe and sound and its a good thing or they might have needed to haul me away in handcuffs for beating on the doctor.

jinksmiester comments on

I agree and would pick BQ as a base and travel from there up the coast to santa marta or cartegena as the spirit moves.I think the beach and scenery around santa marta is beautiful but i think a person would run out of new things to see and do there and doing the same things would get old.I guess if a person had a decent job to keep occupied that would help but there is more to do in barranquilla ...my opinion.

jinksmiester comments on Infant Death in Colombia

Don,t know about infant death rates but it seems treatments are different. i have a friend in colombia who has a child that since born goes into convultions and fits and is often running a fever..the child will soon be two years old and the only thing doctors in colombia have done is treat him for the fever. He has been hospitalized regularily and his mother is always running to the hospital as her babys eyes are rolling up in his head.I talked to my doctor here in canada and he said that this happens here and in the u.s as well and while they are not always sure of the cause there are drugs to treat it to help with convultions and even prevent them. These drugs are used on about 85% of children with his symptoms here in north america..( a totally normal child with the exception of the fits and fever).I talked to my friend about this and she asked her doctor about these drugs and was told her boy would have to see a specialist before they could try them. She did see a specialist supposedly but was told they did,nt know what was wrong with him so they don,t know how to treat it...her doctors have told her the same thing. As doing nothing for treatment is obviously not the answer (he is not improving)would,nt you think they would try these drugs and at least see if it helps his condition rather than say we don,t know so we will do nothing?I believe that if he was here (canada)they would at least try to treat him and help him.

jinksmiester comments on Have you been a victim of crime in Colombia?

ive got a question concerning crime in colombia....how manny people know of someone personally who has been robbed by bandits on moter cycles?....probably everyone as it seems to happen a lot...

jinksmiester comments on Have you been a victim of crime in Colombia?

A fellow i met in cartegena at a brothel sold me a parrot that he said could swear in 7 different launguages and pluck a comdom right out of the pachage without piercing the latex....he lied...could only swear in 6 different launguages. That should be a crime.

jinksmiester comments on Have you been a victim of crime in Colombia?

azunoman...i hear the thief thats hanging out there has huge red lips...orange frizzy hair ...massive red shoes and is dressed in yellow with suspenders..and hangs with a guy called the hamburgler... ive had petty theft in colombia...camera stolen out of a taxi.Know of manny people that have been robbed with guns/knives including family there.ive had people im sure were setting me up stalk me but cut that off at the pass before it could go down.

jinksmiester comments on Noisy Neighbours; sometimes you can win. Be persistent!

It seems that manny a time in a certain barrio visiting friends there would be a nieghbor with his stereo set (outside) the house and blasting full to the nuts so you could hardly talk two houses down the street. No choice but to listen to the music.. Ive thought to myself that if i lived in that area i would buy the biggest meanest stereo system i could and over power him with my own music.I don,t understand the mentality of forcing your noise pollution on someone else....after all why park it outside and blast it full blast? To me that seems ignorant and no respect at all for nieghbors. good work shutting that church down ken....id imagine something like that would have drove me nuts.

jinksmiester comments on Thank you all for your input to my post

I never responded to your other post so i don,t know what it was about.Just a suggestion...if you are going to live colOmbia practice learning how to spell it...Then one day perhaps you can apply to be a colOmbian....best of luck

jinksmiester comments on IN-N-OUT OR HAMBURGUESAS DEL CORRAL?

Id say she obviously does,nt consider you hot if she set you up like chicken ready to be plucked.Sure sounds like a distinct possibilty.Id do a little backround check on her. Concerning el corral burgers ...in this canucks opinion not special...ive had them a few times and found them big/sloppy and did,nt really have much of a charbroiled taste.I prefer homemade bbq but id rather have dairy queen or aw than an el corral. juan valdez coffee beats starbucks.

jinksmiester comments on Club Colombia

It seems no matter how much club colombia or aguila i drink i can barely get a buzz off it.Ive tryed pounding it pretty good (swill piggin)and it does next to nothing for me other than trips to the washroom.Either thats a sign im an alcoholic or the alcohol content is very low...GEE! i hope its the alcohol content. If i wish to get a buzz on while in colombia i usually buy a jug of smirnoff. For a light beer i really like a box of miller highlife..the champagne of beers...love that stuff and everytime im through the u.s its a sure bet i buy a box or two.My colombian wife loves it too and certainly helps me consume it..( i drink fast so i get more than she does). It used to be available in canada mabee 15 or 20 years ago but you can,t get it anymore so i sell and carry mgd which i think is also a good american beer just a step below highlife for my taste.

jinksmiester comments on Club Colombia

Weh in colombia my wife and i drink club colombia. As a canuck i find all colombian beer is a week assed brew that i think consists mostly of flavor and water and very little alcohol.Ive never found the percentage listed on a can but it can,t be much...even my wife has noticed a half doz canadian beer is nothing like colombian and puts her on her ass.

Thank you catamd for your supportive comments...it is appreciated. The difficult thing in all this at the present time is that up until the time she was told about the denial of the visa extention she was like family or at least a very good friend. She has gone from that to treating my wife and i like we are now diseased and wants nothing to do with us whatsoever.Even my 20 month old daughter is getting the cold shoulder from her.Where before she played with her and had fun now she does,nt have the time of day for even her.Now if my daughter comes to her she is pushed aside like she is nothing but an anoyance. To me that seems ignorant and cruel.I will to speak to my other colombian employee (the one that accepted what has happened with grace) before she leaves and let her know that should the opportunity arise in the future i would be proud to have her back.Ive offered to take both these ladys for a trip through the rocky mountains for four or five days before they leave at my exspense and as exspected the one who is treating me and family like yesterdays trash is not interested.I think that is really stupid on her part as the mountains are an incredible and scenic opportunity that people come to see from all over the world. Its her loss but then perhaps she still thinks she will be staying in canada (won,t happen) and she will get another chance. Its obviously better if she does,nt come as the rest of us will surley have a lot more fun..I think i may ask her to leave the house and take a room in the hotel for the remainder of her stay. She is not in the house much at all now anyway..if she is not working she takes off first thing in the morning to visit other people and will not return till late at night... i asume to avoid us.I will watch her closley at work now but as we both have contracts i,ll hounor mine and hopefully she will hounor hers.

jinksmiester comments on people ungrateful....some are

For a person that is sponsored (permanent resident) yes a person is liable for there food /housing /health req etc for a period of three years. For a forien worker thats not the case as there is no sponsorship.Costs of hiring from country to country may vary though as from colombia it was a requirement to suppy airfare return...in fact without a return ticket along with the temp visa they could deny entry.I could have hired someone with a pre approved work visa and not had the exspense of airfare from a different country. This employee has a contract and visa and was told when she left she must return before it exspires.Im sure that if she tries to stay illegal she will screw herself out of any chance at another visa to canada. As her employer im told its my resonsibilty to ensure she does return and report her if she goes missing to immigration.I think in her case it would be hard to claim refugee status after coming here on a work visa for a year...i doubt that would fly with immigration.I intend to see she gets on a plane to colombia and if she trys anything other than that i,ll report her to immigration and the rcmp.Other than fullfilling her contract im not liable for anything after its finished.

jinksmiester comments on people ungrateful....some are

Ya ken....if you are by some time stop in and say hello...just ask for the owner...im often away but if im not id be happy to buy few beers and discuss colombia.Mongo...im just going to let her finsh her term and leave.I won,t get rid of her at this point as there is not much time left.If she chooses to think i did her wrong somehow she can go ahead and think that. She told me she phoned immigration and was told she could get a visa extention by them...henceforth she thinks im not trying to get her one. What i tryed to explain to her is that immigration and HRDC are two different goverment departments and she or we cannot get a visa extention without hrdc,s aproval. That will not happen as they have eliminated visa extentions period. She now thinks she can find work elsewhere and get a visa exstention but that won,t happen either (not legally) as they have the same rules and regulations for immigration and forien workers that i do.Her only chance is a reapplication from scratch requireing a labour market opinion (4 or 5 months) and reapplying through bogota (2 months) to come on a whole new temp visa assuming someone can convince immigration they can,t hire a canadian and will cover the cost of airfare/accomodation as i have...at this point i don,t think i,ll be doing that.Anyhow ive got thick skin...been robbed..ripped off on occation and abused so i no longer have much sympathy for people that screw me over.I think and hope that regardless of her feelings she will continue to do her job as per contract and i,ll hold up my end as per contract. If she does happen to screw me over then her job and visa will come to an end and she will be on a plane back to colombia. Her visa is only good for one job and one contract and thats with me(it tells you that right on the back of the visa). If she quites or is terminated she is exspected to return to colombia.Personally i hope she gives her head a shake and realizes it was,nt such a bad gig coming here and that im not out to do her wrong (she has been a good worker and id keep her if i could). If she does,nt ...oh well, im not gonna loose sleep over it...but im not gonna help her in the future either.

jinksmiester comments on people ungrateful....some are

She is one of three forien workers i attempted to bring from colombia. One got her visa app refused because her enlish skills were not sufficient to immigrations wants at the embassy in bogota. She worked as a bartender waitress in a small country hotel i own in alberta ...The Dewberry hotel in dewberry alberta..(stop by for a complimentary brewsky on me if your ever in the area....anyone on pbh)She is a good worker and well liked by the regular patrons and i might add will be missed when she goes. This is where she earned her wages and fairly substantial propinas bieng an attractive friendly lady. She was someone my wife knew from childhood and as she spoke good english and knew my wife i hired her for a job.She had the choice of taking accomodations in the hotel (free of exspense)or as she was friends with my wife she could live with us(free of rent exspense). She lives with my wife and i along with the other employee and our baby girl.I don,t nor ever have i ask for or sought out sex with these ladys ....only with my wife who is attractive enough satisfy my wants and desires.Im not someone (however old fashioned that might be in this day and age) that would cheat on his wife.Besides that i brought them here to work not for any other purpose.I will miss having them here and the house will be quite without them.I think all in all a win win situation for both them and me.They got to see and visit canada and the chance to earn some money while here and i got a couple great ladys to help with my business.I did use them to help my business make money...a friendly attractive lady with a nice smile and a good work attitude is great for business ...no regrets.....and now you know the rest of the story.

Ferran...ive been posting on pbh for quite a while...a lot longer than you (july 2008) .There are plenty of posters who know im not a troll.Perhaps you should have checked my posting history or even visit a few web sites (HRDC) or immigration canada to see if ive got my facts straight.Trust me i would,nt go to the trouble of doing all the research just to troll on phb..i actually have a life.Besides , if i wanted to troll i could invent something a lot more comical than this for a laugh. azunoman...you can please some of the people some of the time...most of the people part of the time..but never all of the people all of the time.As i said i never meant to offend and i appoligize ...if you can,t accept that i suggest you loosen that knot in your panties.

azunoman...perhaps my title post was a little unfair...but none the less truthful...Some colombians im sure are unappreciative...so are some mexicans/ canadians/americans /germans/japs etc... In any event it was not meant to offend and if it has i appoligize .Had i thought about it perhaps a different title post would have been more appropriate.

Paisa /Yes she was aware of the applications to exstend the visa,s...she needed to sign some of the paperwork and a new work contract and was worried about me getting it done.I think she hoped to stay here quite badly and im certain she is disapointed. What she fails to realize is that im her friend and ive done a lot of work in trying to bring her here and keep her here. She has been a good employee and certainly i tryed to keep her here but it is not my decision and human resourses dev canada does,nt care about whether she was a good employee or deserving of the job.Life is not fair! They care about an unemployed canadian collecting unemployment insurance who could take the job.Pehaps in her frustration she is just placing blame, lashing out and upset and will come to understand after she thinks about it that my only interest was in helping her.I think ANYONE of any RACE can be ungrateful and i certainly don,t wish to portray colombians in a bad light. .I have a lot of respect ...a profound and deep respect for the colombian people ive come know.If i did,nt i would have hired people from anywhere instead of specifically seeking to hire colombians.I could have hired chinese or philipino workers with pre approved visa,s and not had to go through as much paperwork or paid airfare or accomodations...i took the path that required more cost and work and i do NOT regret it...theses ladies have been great employees and should the opportunity arise i will do it again. This one upset lady does not in anyway change how i view colombians....they are my brothers my sisters and my friends.
