Well I decided to break up with my girlfriend last night - She is also my cousin by the way. I was considering the idea for some time now. I spoke with her last night and she told me that she was unable to completely put off a guy that likes her - that to me represents a serious lack of character.

We love each other but breaking up is the best option for now. I think she needs to be tested in the time to come to see if her love is genuine or not. I will be moving to Colombia at the end of next year from Canada. No rush for the moment....

PS: F.Y.I. Lauthra, you can have someone gunned down in Colombia for as little as $25US...

I didn't really understand well the message you posted besides the fact that 70% of foreign people you have employed in Medellin have let you down.

Are you looking at hiring teachers? Do you have a website address where I can get more information about your company?

I am looking at moving to Medellin from Canada. I have been interested in living in Medellin for some time now because half of my family lives there and I just love Colombia too much. I was born in Bolivia and I lived in Medellin for many years when I was a child but I never got my residency papers done. My great-grand-mother is Colombian though. I have looked at different ways of getting my Colombian residency papers done but I believe trying to get them because of the fact that my great-grand-mother was Colombian is too complicated because she and my grand-mother have since passed away.

I know that by working in Colombia for 2 years I can get my papers which is the route a prefer to take. My girlfriend is also from Medellin which is another reason I am looking at moving there for.

I have worked so far for a major Canadian Bank as an account manager. I deal with corporate clients on a daily basis. I also love teaching. I speak very well English, French and Spanish having grown up in Quebec Canada. I have thaught many classes to people in different areas being myself an airplane pilot instructor as well.

I would like to know if you are hiring right now and/or what help you might offer me in exchange for my services. I can always pay for my plane ticket to come down to Medellin, that is not a problem, although the Colombian regulations do specify you must pay for a return ticket.

I am planning to move to Medellin by December of 2006 BUT If I can find something worth it I can always move during this current year.

Not the Employees Fault I had very bad experiences on international flights flying with Avianca, not on national flights though, not yet anyways. The truth is that when such experiences happen it is not the employees fault. The problem is how the company is managed by Management. Avianca should have a major clean up of its management team.

THE BEST PHONE CARD I tried several phone cards. The best one is called LATINO AMIGO. You can talk with a $5 card for about 2H and a few minutes to Medellin/Bogota if it's a home phone, or 1H 20 Min if you are calling a cell phone. You can make several calls without been charged an Admin Fee. I know this place on St Clair Ave near Dufferin where they sell it for $4.25 instead of $5.

Service Sucks One time I flew with Avianca from Miami to Medellin, stopping in Cartagena for 2 days to visit the city. I initially flew in from Toronto Canada, when I got the their counter in Miami their overbooked, shipped my luggage to Cartagena, they had me pay an extra $50 US to take te next flight the next day. I ended up spending less than a day in Cartagena before I finally got to Medellin.

I believe the service with ACES was much better!

Travel Medellin to Cartagena I travelled from Medellin to Cartagena beginning of 2005 - January. The road was safe, I saw a lot of military check ups which is always a good thing to see. I travelled at night though because it was easier to rest. On your way back make sure you also travel with Rapido Ochoa, the buses are very comfortable or Brasilia. AVOID USING ANY OTHER COMPANY SPECIALLY IF THEY TRAVEL BACK TO MEDELLIN THROUGH PUERTO BERRIO, it took us 17H to get back to Medellin compared to 12h in our way to Cartagena. Rapido Ochoa also accepts credit cards.

Someone else might be able to help you out with regards to road conditions during low/tourist season. I know the current president has greatly improved the security on the roads. Take care.
