JenniferS comments on Red Cross of San Andres http://www.sanandres.gov.co/ I'll try writing to the contacts there... I suppose it would be best to do so in Spanish?

JenniferS comments on Red Cross of San Andres No one living there for... (more than four months)If that is the case, that's alright... as I do intend on going back to university... I'm sort of hoping I could do this as a summer job or stage. However, would anyone know where I would find out how long one can stay in San Andres?

JenniferS comments on Red Cross of San Andres I would think... Well, the Red Cross started in Switzerland didn't it? It's an international organization... that should be worth something...

JenniferS comments on Red Cross of San Andres you should just contact Red Cross directly I actually tried that already... nobody has answered me.:( Then again, perhaps they are just receiving so many emails that it will take time before getting to mine.

JenniferS comments on Teaching or tutoring in San Andres Another possibility that had occurred to me was to work for the Red Cross. Would anyone know about the presence of the Red Cross within San Andres? I know that there is a building, but that's all.

JenniferS comments on Red Cross of San Andres that should be an interesting question,... I know I saw a Red Cross building when I went there... but that's the extent of what I know about it...

JenniferS comments on Teaching or tutoring in San Andres Alternative idea That would actually be a very interesting idea. I know basic first aid and I have a very close friend who is fluent in Spanish. Furthermore, my usual group of friends consists of people very much interested in biology and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to help save the biodiversity. ^-^ Could you tell me more about how all this would be possible? (It really does sound like a dream come true...)

JenniferS comments on Teaching or tutoring in San Andres San Andres I have been there. I did not know that most people there spoke English though, I suppose I was staying in a very Spanish-speaking area. Furthermore, I was only there for a short while, so it is not surprising that there is much I do not know about the island. However, I am doing my best to inform myself about San Andres. I want to work there because I sorta fell in love with the island and the people there, as silly as it may sound. Technically, I can also tutor, or perhaps teach, French as well as a little bit of sciences (chemistry, biology...).

JenniferS comments on Guide to Providencia I just came from San Andres I just came back from a vacation at San Andres. My family and I stayed at the hotel San Luis for a week. It was honestly one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. To anyone looking for a hotel to stay at, I highly recommend this one. However, I was also very sad to realize that, to a lot of the workers there... their job at the hotel will be their career. I want to help somehow. I want to find a way to help give these people an education, I know there are brilliant minds waiting for an opportunity to prove themselves. I am a cegep science student about to go into university and I was wondering if there was some way I could teach in San Andres, either during the summer or during a year or something of the like. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
