I normally wouldnt bring that much money in, but the AUD/USD conversation rate was quite strong, so i went for it. Im also bring my gf back with me this time, and she doesnt like to rough it how i do, so instead of gettin jipped on the credit card exchange rate when i pay for hotels etc, i got 2K at a good rate...YOINK!

Kostya was a champion, Hatton got him when he was passed his best. I remember a nice hook that Tsyzu landed on Zab Judah's jaw, and he couldnt even walk properly. Sol Caribe Campo How much did this cost you? Also where abouts is it located in San Andres? My GF and i were looking at the Decameron Aquarium, as we are both Travel Agents from AUS, and can most likely get a good discount. We will be there just after Carnavales in Bquiilla so Feb 2008.

San Andres Hey Kids,

Im headin over to Carnavales in Bquilla in 2008, and am going to pop into San Andres for around 5 days. Ive had a quick look and i saw there are a few all inclusive resorts, a chain of them, but im not sure whether thats the best way to go about it or not. Im not much of a fish eater, however would still like to try different restaurants. I will be travelling with my gf. Can anyone advise on some nice 4/5 star properties?

Drinking I think the problem with alcohol is alot of people binge drink. I know i for one, cant stop at just one drink. Thats probly a problem with my addictive personality!

YYYYYO! Well as we speak ive had a couple of cans of JD and coke (premix) and a few glasses of some cheap ass bourbon my dad got for xmas (doubles).
At least im not the only one who says "im never drinking again!" only to get the urge and the craving a few days later!
Even tho im from down under, im not a beer drinker, but give me a JD and coke anytime and ill drink u under the table!
BTw........i found JD and coke quite difficult to get in colombia! So can i get an order for a few bottles all around colombia, in ever major city and outback town for when i arrive next? Thanks chaps!

Strober - The point that the place served its function is totally irrelevant. It could be a 5 star property for all i care. The point i think Manu is trying to make is that whether the hostel be in a good location, have good facilities etc, which we all know it does. The fact that he has been advised first hand of physical assault on a female makes him not want to stay there, and he is simply voicing his right to freedom of speech and letting other people what he experienced.

There is NO excuse for hitting women. I think it is a cowardly act.

Still in talks My business partner has a good friend of his who is in the hotel chain in Colombia, and who we are going to get him in on our venture. So therefore we have a colombian backing if there are any problems.

Further to my previous post, I have been informed that my business partner has suggested setting up a chain of hotels/casino's, for the moment there would only be 2. One in Ipiales on the colombian side of the border, and the other in Tulcan on the Ecuadorian side of the border.

The prices would be affordable to both ecuadorians and colombians as we are not looking at a get rich quick program. So therefore we can afford to lower our rates and establish clientelle.

Just because you never heard anyone hit someone, doesnt mean it never happened.

I dont know the owner from a bar of soap, and whether he allows cocaine on his premises or not is up to him, however hitting someone is something that should not be tolerated. Women are already treated as 2nd class citizens in alot of countries around the world, and hitting them should not be tolerated.

Ive stayed at Casa Kiwi and i remember monica working there. When i stayed however the owner wasnt there so i comment on that as i never got to meet him. I do remember Monica being kind and helpful, and seemed like the type of person who is fairly easy going.

Its not my place to comment as to what manu said, however it is definately a serious incident and i am hoping that if someone posted that then they would not do it as a joke.

Hmmmm Ive stayed at Casa Kiwi, and i didnt have any problems - apart from a few annoying travellers!

But if you are going to advise why a hostel is no good and why people should not stay there, then you need to let the people know why.

Cuidad Perdida I too did this trek, it was amazing!

I would say a general level of fitness would be required as there are a few nice hill climbs to contend with, not to mention the final steps leading up to the Lost City. We had a dog tag along with us for 2 days and then decide to return back to his village!

Would definately recommend it, the trek, the scenery, i loved everything about it, There were para-militaries on the trek, who were all friendly.

If anyone has any q's dont hesitate to drop me a line!

Casa Kiwi Hey,

If you get a taxi from the bus terminal just give the taxi driver the address and he should find it for you.

Its located in El Poblado, which is a clean, safe area, a stones throw from the el poblado nightlife district, about 5 min walk from the metro station.

A good friend of mine works there :)

They have a pool table, cable tv, etc etc.

Its a good place.
