It's an honest, passionate portrayal of one couple's journey north, through the hellish Mexican desert and onto the mean streets of New York City. Paraiso Travel is now showing at the Tribeca Film Festival and is receiving high praise for its honesty and sensitivity. Expect this film to be huge! ...

My wife left the States under voluntary depature several years ago. We have gone back and forth on whether to try to make things work or to divorce. I filed a petition for her in 2003 but let it fall to the wayside. Now she would like to come to the States to visit, not necessarily to return. Is this possible? Will she be given a tourist visa under these circumstances? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
My wife and I are divorcing (Colombian marriage) and she has e-mailed me a power of attorney from Colombia, in Spanish and English. Does anyone have experience in such a matter? How does one get the required apostille? Does it have to be in Colombia? Any advice would be appreciated. ...

Maybe it was the quantity of my alcohol consumption but for some reason I suffered some of the worst hangovers of my life while in Medellín. It wasn't so much the typical symptoms of a hangover -- headache, nausea, etc. It was a confused, depressed, clouded-mind type of hangover. In fact, I gave up drinking after one weekend where I swore I was going insane. Granted, I did tend to drink quite heavily although it was usually beer or wine. But, dios mio, I never felt so shitty in my life. In fact ...

Since every reference to what is going on in Medellin always seems to center on Poblado I will being to post some guides to other areas of the city that are just as fun, cheaper and a lot more real.
I will begin in mi barrio, SurAmericana where backpackers like to stay (Palm Tree Hostel and my guesthouse Casa Sol are 2 blocks from eachother).
This area offers a whole slew of diversions: cafes, shops, clubs, museums, theaters. And it is a quick jump to Centro (that ...
