jcgd77 comments on Colombians arround the world

we are all over the place hehehe ;-)

jcgd77 comments on

My life in colombia is only worth "2,300.000 or 2 million 300 thousand lousy pesos" "By the way "2,300,000.00 or 2 million 300 thousand pesos" is the same amount so no need to write it twice....u confused man ;-)

jcgd77 comments on

Hoo that is a lot. In Brixton (London) teens do it for mere £100 (331,000 COP) or even less, so don't be discouraged.

jcgd77 comments on Oliver Stone

Well, This is just another "Science Fiction" movie by Oliver. Why r u guys so surprised? That is what he is good at, he clearly does not distinguish between fantasy and reality. some little economic help for the movie from his friend "El Chavito del 8" won't hurt. U scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. This is what this movie really is.

jcgd77 comments on Buying plane ticket to New Mexico from Medellin ONLINE

mmmmm why no contact the airline directly?? U dont want to arrive at check in and tell the check in stuff, but my friend on poor but happy told me I didn;t need to bring the credit card, his name is pepito.. bla bla, Just do as the airline policy says, that why they have policies and terms and conditions. Talk 2 them is my advice

jcgd77 comments on My Colombian friend just sent me this link!

The Sad Truth hehehe

jcgd77 comments on Did you know this about Colombia?

Everyone knows Avianca is the oldest airline in the Americas and the second oldest commercial airline in the world after KLM. I don't know why people are surprised.

jcgd77 comments on Surprising Colombia: A stable democracy

That is old info, Colombia is the oldest and most stable democracy of Latin America, everyone knows it, well those who know a bit os history...not many seem to do..

jcgd77 comments on Safety in Columbia?

ColUmbia ???? hehehehe Here we go,,another one

jcgd77 comments on What did I learn about Colombia?

I just love how foreigners love talking badly about Colombia but they are just trying to hide how much they are attracted by it, otherwise they would not bother talking about it hehehehe And yes FORTUNATELY there are many cultural differences between the UK and Colombia. anyways Digale que si al hombrecito.

gamm2: Well What I mean by infrastructure is, mmm I should have used a different word. What I meant is: roads on both estrato 5 and 6 are well paved with nice parks but there difference is in estrato 6 you find mansions and proper rich people housing. Estrato 5 is obviously very nice as well but more for normal people if you see where I'm coming from. in terms of the bills estrato 6 is just ridiculous or just to expensive for the average Bogotano like me.

jcgd77 comments on

gamm2: there is a lot of difference between estarto 5 and 6 , at least for a Bogotano like me. I wish I could live in Rosales (estrato 6) but my family can only afford la floresta reservada estrato 4-5. The bills cost is slightly higher in estrato 6 but there is a hell of a difference in the barrio's infrastructure. JumboBond007: my advise is: I'm from Bogota and I know better. Modelia is not north or close to the North. It is western Bogota and minutes away from El Dorado Airport. Modelia is estrato 3-4 (mainly 4) depending on your economical situation I'd try to move somewhere in the north of the city. Although modelia is not bad it is more of a working medium class. I used to live there years ago. Houses are big and nice but not always kept in good conditions. The good side of Modelia is that ou are close to the Av. CAlle 26 which flows normally rather smoothly but you are nowhere close the north of the city. In terms of the expenses and bills. Colombia is obviously cheaper than the UK but don't be fooled as you may expect it to be too cheap and it may end up being rather expensive. Depending on the product, item or service it might even be more expensive than the UK as the UK is a economy of scale and many thing are cheaper in the UK. So don't spend all your money on the 1st day, specially if you don;t have a job. Someone said the main change would be in terms of the local culture and they are right. In fact think that most british people find hard to adapt to other European cultures so I guess Colombia would be a little bit harder but you need to bear that in mind. I live in west London but when I return for good to Bogota I'd love to move to somewhere on the Calle 100 with Autopista norte, just perfect location and not too expensive, well a bit but not too much. any questions just feel free to ask

jcgd77 comments on Translation question.....it's a quick one

Well not really. Literally How have u been? translates: Cómo has estado? Cómo te ha ido has not literal translation into English however I agree that the closest in terms of meaning is How have you been? or I would rather use How are you doing?

jcgd77 comments on Corruption One hour in Africa.

I honestly doubt most French people want to copy the American culture and lifestyle even tho they always complaint about America. No offense.

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

billyb : Such as using "thought', when the correct word woud be "though", you mean like that? :)) hahah actually u r right but I have a pretext as my first language is not english hahahha ;-)

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

tomtom33 in that respect you are right and like we say in Colombia "entre gustos no hay disgustos"

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

it seems people only like to hear what they like too. I've read the threads for ages very often but can't be bothered to participate in all of them. I am not here to offend anyone but it seems to me that people just like talking bad about anything and I don't share that.

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

Darloup: To be a travel guide writer you should be less contemptuous, seems like you live in your own world, specially when you say Americans are more educated that X or Y. With all respect everyone know what the average american is like. It seems people gets offended when they are told the truth but they enjoy criticizing about others, very convenient, isn't it?

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

turnmeon: If you find it a beautiful language that is your own judgement and I respect that even thought most english speaker don't speak their own language properly or have good grammar foundations But I respect your opinion just like mine. To me beautiful languages are: French - Italian - Spanish. We are having this conversation in english because, for non english speakers, it is much easier to learn than any of the above languages , that is why english is the most spoken language.

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

tomtom33: if you knew any other language and grammar apart from english then you'd understand what I mean so if you don't you'd just be talking about something you don't know.

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

One more: Colombia a third world country? do you know what a developing country is? someone needs some social science lessons here!!

jcgd77 comments on We foreigners are not God's Gift to locals in Third World Countries

Why would u feel proud of speaking only english? I'd respect someone who speaks 2-3 languages but only english?? With all due respect, English is a language for businesses, a language used as a bridge between many not english speaking cultures, a technical language but none can dispute that it is the most mediocre language in the world. People don't learn english because it is a beautiful language people learn English because it is useful and is the only bloody language that someone can learn and make real progress in six months of study and that is because is more of technical language than anything else. If in the UK britons struggle with grammar which you can see among university graduated students and professionals too I don't want to think what the situation is in the US. So I would not be so proud of being able to speak one mediocre language which many english speakers can't even speak properly. I say this with due respect to english speakers, not intending to offend anyone but the truth must be told in the same way we get told about our truths.

jcgd77 comments on "maldito gringo" stare - being white in Colombia

I realize people love talking about Colombia and its down sides however if they do that it's because they like it in the end otherwise they would not even be here talking about Colombia on this site so everyone is welcome with all their critics and above all respected. ;-)

jcgd77 comments on Mestizo Colombians

100% Colombian Gorgeousness ;-)

jcgd77 comments on Colombians in Europe having plastic surgery to look more "European?"

Why would u want to look more European with all due respect. I mean, I am Colombian and like most Colombian I am of mixed characteristics and that is what makes Colombianos,,especially Colombianas hahah look so good. I'm not changing any of my features to look like anyone, we are who we are. ;-)

jcgd77 comments on UK drug users 'damaging Colombia'

Well, you don't reflect you are on your 30's!! Hooo Yes then you are what we need, a foreigner trying to teach us something about ethics hahahaha You make me laugh!! By the way I'm not "another Colombian living abroad totally out of touch with the country of their birth" 'cos I am another 100% Colombian, living in Bogota, Colombia in a estrato 3 barrio, who gets up every morning to catch a bus and go to a public uni" So don't talk about what you don't know. heheheheh U r indeed very funny!! ignorance has no limits I can see!! OK kid have a good day at school!! There is nothing u can understand if you don't want to understand!! Your aggressive and rude attitude towards other people won't get you anywhere!! Chao chao y si te vi, no me acuerdo!! parce!! ;-) Bye bye,

jcgd77 comments on UK drug users 'damaging Colombia'

La_huella: If someone needs to start talking and above all reasoning like an adult it is you, listen to your words!! If you don't have any valid grounds to base your comments just don't say anything. I'm sorry if you are a drug addict trying to defend a simplistic point of view!! You certainly do not know a fraction of the history!! Well, there is no point in discussing this with a kid but at least some people know what I think now!! We don't need people like you here!!

jcgd77 comments on UK drug users 'damaging Colombia'

La_Huella: STOP talking so much rubbish! Financing a building or financing more killings? you must be a very trouble minded man!! There is poverty 'cos os all the desplazados that come to the cities trying to scpaoe the violence generated by drug trafficking , Stut up and think before you say one more stupid word! None is saying here thet Cocaine has not finance many, not only in Colombia, even in developed countries but of course we get the bad reputation!! We certainly do not need people like you in Colombia!!

jcgd77 comments on UK drug users 'damaging Colombia'

PBHjon: Yes, there are loads of them, many british citizens, Yes, british, R u still amazed? Well if u r on a £700 wage and living in a council flat why no take a nice all paid holiday and bring some drugs for our fellow drug addicts? It makes them happy and it makes them money? and corruption too or u honestly believe the english mafia don't share their slide with some from the UK police. johnny2008: get over it man!! when I said soho or manchester or liverpool I didn't mean exactly mean glamorous but that is not the point! The point is almost half of the population in the UK have at least tried a "Class A" drug once in their lives. That is disgusting so don;t preach too much but practice it!! I'm sure your recreational users in the UK would have a more relaxed time in a pueblo in Colombia than in a dark street of east London.

jcgd77 comments on UK drug users 'damaging Colombia'

johnny2008, I think your point is a very simplistic view of a very complex problem, perhaps it is very hard to understand it from the comfort of your sofa in London and it is then where it gets more difficult to understand 'cos you are in a very convenient view. It is very easy to criticize a country like Colombia who does a lot to fight drugs. There is drugs consumption everywhere in the world so you point about youngsters in Bogota consuming the drugs does not even get a little bit closer to the cancer in UK society. There is no comparison on cocaine users between the 2 countries, the UK is by far (at least ten fold) more cocaine addict than Colombia. Well, who would bother to think about Colombia and its problems while having a wild time in the street of Soho, Manchester or Liverpool? I'm sorry to say but their ignorance are killing many people!! There is a say in Colombia: There is no worse blind (person) than that who does not want to see!! It is funny to see how more and more english people are getting caught in airport around the world trying to bring drugs to their country to poison their own people. Maybe when they realize that it is damaging their society then they will start worrying about it, for the moment no need to worry, let's rather blame someone else!!

jcgd77 comments on

Why would you want to go to Mexico apart from leisure?

jcgd77 comments on Hungarian Reality Show in Bogota

jcgd77 comments on

olombia, one more tragedy of its four-decade civil war?????????? Do you know what a civil war is?? There is not civil war in Colombia?? A Colombia Problem, Spreads In Latin America??? What a bloody ignorant,,,,,,,, So it is Colombia's fault if someone gets kidnapped in Venezuela or Ecuador,,,,,,,As if those countries were not unsafe enough. One of the worse articles I have ever read...;-(

jcgd77 comments on Estrato Snobs

Sorry but I don't believe you.

jcgd77 comments on Chavez recalls Colombian rebel leader

Chaves is just one more of those guerrilleros!! We have problems in Colombia but I just feel sorry for the venezuelans living under his dictatorship - most latin american countries wish they had a president like ours

jcgd77 comments on IRELAND V COLOMBIA,,,.....2pm Thursday 29th

Anyways, Colombia showed a lot more arguments to win and deserved the victory much more than Ireland, Colombia did much more to win. Besides the Irish goal was not even a nice goal, pure luck!! But fair enough!! everyone is allowed to think their own team is the best, that is what football is all about!!

jcgd77 comments on IRELAND V COLOMBIA,,,.....2pm Thursday 29th

Yeahhhhh Keep on dreaming ,,,,and because I follow international football I can tell !!! hahahha

jcgd77 comments on IRELAND V COLOMBIA,,,.....2pm Thursday 29th

Ireland is like the Bolivia of South America in terms of football so I would not be so optimistic!!

jcgd77 comments on Colombia is not safe , but I like it

With all respect. I am sorry to say but obviously this person has been for a while in the country and does not know much about it.

jcgd77 comments on

Of course it does! and for your info more than what you would expect.

however like many developing countries, they are not exploted yet.

there are at least 15-20 products where Colombia has a comparative advantage,,,,

in a rush right now but will get the list later on,

jcgd77 comments on

Don't mean to oeffend BUT What do you think French, Italian and Spanish think of the UK????? You are just generalising about colombians. Ask a spanish, italian or french what they think of you country??
Of course there are many good things and Obviously there are many bad things....But the first thing one would come up with as an answer is:

Bad food, bad weather, Not friendly people and these answers come from Europeans (Continental Europeans) So please don't think there is something wrong with colombian (girls)
