Also known as Thiruvananthapuram (yes, Trivandrum is easier), this is the capital of Kerala, one of southern India's more relaxed states. Most people don't stay long but go to the beaches of Kovalam and Varkala, but Keralam also has its charms.
There are some cheap guesthouses here, but the ones on MG Rd can be very noisy because of the traffic.
