Wonderful hindu pilgrimage town at the desert.
There are lots of budget hotels that tend to be clean with rooftops to hang out.
There's a lake surrounded by bathiung ghats, plenty of temples. You can take camel treks (around 800Rs a day) - you can take a camel all the way to Jodhpur, it takes about a week. There are music courses, cooking courses, yoga schools and so on. Once a year, a camel fair is held here, attracting 100s of 1000s of people - hotel prices go through the roof then. It's also a good place to go shopping or have some clothes made.
Buses to Jaipur take 4 hours, 11 hours to Jaisalmer, 5 hours to Jodphur and 9 hours to Udaipur.
