Kat1 I do not really think is a waste of time it is way better than doing nothing, at least something is being done to try to get the problem under control, remember some people complaint because nothing is being done and others because they do not like the way is done.

That is why I like it because you can keep it clean do not add any applications and you will be fine, sometimes I get invitations from friends to add an application and I just ignore or block that application, mine is clean no garbage just the basics and I like it that way is not like myspace where you find ads everywhere.

Not really, you know when you connect in MSN for the first time, thne you have to go to where it says "Appear Offline" is there a setting to connect like that right away, my problem is that most of the times I do not feel like chatting and as soon they see me there is like everybody at the same time wants to chat, thanks for the answer houstongal :)

MSN does not work for me I do not like it, especially when you connect and as soon you do it you have a lot people wanting to chat with you, they keep bugging you, may be I am missing a setting where you can connect as if you were offline I mean connect with out letting everyone else know I just did is something like that in there Kat1? if it is please tell me because is driving me nuts, other good thing about FB is that if you want to see pictures or videos of your family/friends they are always there no need to download pictures or videos to your pc.

You are right about that people need to learn not to disclose their most intimate moments to the world, that is why the user need to have common sense it is not Facebook it was your friend who made the mistake of sharing what she was doing at that time, what is not smart about interacting with relatives and friends? I mean you take 15, 20 minutes to browse the internet, read news write here in PBH, it all depends in how you use it.

I have been using Facebook for almost a year now, I have found and I have been found by distant relatives, high school friends, you name it, what I like about Facebook is that ultimately you control what applications to use, you can block the ones you do not need or want, you can also control what and who can see your profile, so in other words it is a good tool to keep in touch with relatives and friends. you just have to learn how to use it effectively.

I did not mean to carry it with me all the times, if it gets lost then I am screwed, what I meant was to take it with you if you are going to a different city in case you need to leave in a hurry.

I do not know about anyone else but I ALWAYS carry my passport, not on me but I will take to where I am going, imagine if you have to leave in a hurry medical, family emergency, then you are stuck until you get your passport again.

Something I notice last time I went to Colombia is that none of the clocks I saw had the right time not even the cell phones, if you ask the time to someone else they will give a different time not in hours but minutes always 20 minutes difference more or less, it was crazy.

Juanes, if you decide to purchase land anywhere in Colombia be aware!! check real good if the land you want to buy is for sale, I have heard of a lot of people getting scammed thinking they purchased the land only to find out the real owner was not selling it.

I rather pay a regular fare in other know airline, the other day Spirit canceled about 10 flights coming out of FT. Lauderdale for no apparent reason, imagine you being in Bogota and not being able to get back here because they decide to cancel the flights?, I do not think I will ever fly in that ariline. If I want to fly to Bogota from 11/12/2008 to 11/15/2008 Spirit will charge me US 332 if I take AA they will charge me US 506, that's US 174 difference, if I take two pieces of luggage I will have to pay US 50 dollars extra in Spirit, leaving a difference of US 124, that is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Yes you can do it 99% of the times all you have to do is take the phone to be unlocked and that is it, you can use the phone with any network, I took two phones to Colombia and no problem in Bogota they charged me 25000 pesos in Cedritos to unlock the phone, while in Brranquilla they charged me 5000 pesos in the centro by sanandresito.

That is a big NO!!, in January of this year I became a Legal Permanent Resident, it was granted by an immigration judge, went to take the pictures and fingerprint for green card, my wife got her card about 6 weeks after we went, we already had our passport stamped but my card was a no show, I was tempted to travel with out it but after thinking over and over I decided to wait and wait and wait, I got a new appointment went to the place to ask why I did not receive the card yet, the officer that took care of me that day put my alien number on the system and guess what? according to the system I was not even a LPR yet!, that day we went the forgot to update my case they told me Oh we are sorry about that your card will arrive in the next 6 weeks and four weeks later I had my card, in other words wait for the actual card to travel.

So you want to go untraceable? hum sounds fishy to me....are you running away from somebody or something?, j/k when I went to Colombia I used my Visa Bank of America card and the only fees I was charged was the international transaction fee 3% of the purchase, to me it was the best way to purchase for stuff there you don't have to carry a lot cash, when I needed cash I went to the ATM machine using my debit card and withdraw the money from there also fees were involved but they were not that high I do not remember now, make sure you tell your bank the travel dates or the will freeze the account while you are there, a prepaid credit card there is not a good idea why? I does not have your name on it, if you want to put $5000 US they will exchange that to pesos and if you return to the U.S with some balance on it you will lose money if you want to use here remember you will be using a Colombian C.C in U.S more fees, money transfers are expensive better option is using your ATM card there believe me, and my son was given 30 day visa to stay there my wife and me no problem we are Colombian, hope this helps.

You can not import a used car permanently to Colombia, the only way you can do it is if you have been in consular service overseas and bring the car with your belongings the other way is if you are importing a classic car before 1984 I believe but the car has to be 100% original and it can not be any car, in other words is a NO NO to bring a used car to Colombia, brand new cars you can import but the taxes you have to pay are way to high.

Monpiri, don get me wrong I have nothing against Colombian actors or productions as a matter of fact I am Colombian, is just that I have been living here in the U.S for so much time I lost track of Colombian tv, I saw Betty la Fea in Telemundo just because it was Colombian and it was funny too I usually do not watch telebobelas either, that same Betty la Fea was renamed as La Fea mas Bella and aired in Mexico was produced by Televisa and in U.S was aired by Univision, it was nothing compared to the original but in Mexico they loved it, and there are plenty on Colombia actors working here in Miami one of the is Marisol Correa she is working on a channel called AmericaTv.

Is not that they are afraid to export, it is the market if they do not see a mexican actor/actress they will not buy it, Univision, Galavision, Telefutura are mexican owned and Telemundo is co-producing telenovelas in Colombia with RTI again with mexican actors.

La razon es simple el mercado norteamericano en español esta controlado por los mexicanos, por esa razon es que uno ve muchas copias a la mexicana de exitosas novelas Colombianas, como Betty la fea, Pedro el escamoso y mas recientemente Sin tetas no hay paraiso, otra rezon es que el tipico televidente hispano aqui en los Estados Unidos se identifica mas con los actores mexicanos y esa es otra de las razones por la cual cuando es una produccion hecha en Colombia que va a ser exportada a los Estados Unidos tiene actores mexicanos.

Mononoke, you are right about that in Colombia, I remember the only and last time I went to San Victorino in Bogota it was like a circus every single person there had a microphone or a megaphone dish were flying everywhere, pots and pans hitting each other and who can forget the famous unbreakable pocillo de tinto, but the Asians I was talking about they were like worst than Homeland Security when I went in there and did not buy anything they all came from the back room llike six of them like if I was going to grab a red snapper and run it was kind of awkward but funny.

When I went to NY I stayed in Queens y the Roosevelt Ave & 64th St, I went to that same Restaurant Tierras Colombianas and the food was good better than the food you find here in Miami, but the funny thing is that I went to a fish market near the metro station owned by Asians and from the moment I went inside they kept asking do you need anything? do you want to buy something? even after I explained to them that I was new in the neighborhood and was looking around they looked at me like if I was going to steal a fish or shrimp in other words in my opinion the Asians are the most annoying people, I said this only in business not as a race I do not have anything against nobody.

Thanks to all you for the answers, I have a Capital One credit card too but if I withdraw cash from credit card account the interest rate will be the 20% I rather pay the 3% fee than that, is like if I was paying state taxes here, I decide I am going to take $100-200 in cash and I will use my ATM for the rest.

They do it because thats the only way to prove that the person singing the document is the right person, lets say someone steals your identity and have fake ids you can prove it was not you by comparing the fingerprints, they do it here in Miami too the other day one coworker got stop by an undercover police officer and he had to put his fingerprint on the citation I think thats why the do it.

juancegomez; in Colombia or if you have the money you can pretty much "own" the jail, not every single inmate is capable of having so many things, the video was in a Bogota jail and showed different kind of inmates, Guerrillas they have absolute control of their side of the building, the Paras they also control their side, the ones with money and the unlucky ones that have no money at all, did you watch the whole video, and another thing is if you really have money and good last name you don't even see a jail house.

To all the people talking sh*t about the police in Colombia get a life there are bad apples everywhere, one of our company cars was stolen in New York about a month ago and it took them 5 days to take the report now they do not want to give a copy and the insurance company needs one went to the precinct and basically they told us to take a hike, does this leaves a bad impression of the NYPD? yes it does, will this make me think all the NYPD officers are a whole bunch of assholes? no it will not, in others words you can not blame everybody just for a few rotten apples.
