Lauthra says on Jul 23, 2007, 17:40: Your cat is so cute!!! I have 2 black ones and a white one with black and brown bits! Yoga rocks, more when the cats go on my mat in the middle of a class :P Nato (='.'=) |

houstongal says on Jul 24, 2007, 21:09: sounds like fun, but i haven't gotten drunk in years (gee....1999 was the last time i recall getting drunk). i keep on passing out for a few minutes after one drink or getting sick before i can ever get drunk. but i could probably get "drunk" of your sense of humor!

Lauthra says on Jul 24, 2007, 21:26: I practice :) I hope to ever be as bendy as my cats! They're all rescues and I am soooo obsessed about them! Nato (='.'=) |

houstongal says on Jul 25, 2007, 06:28: GS - I have a smiley bendy at work that I sometimes put into yoga positions. I should replace my photo with it!

Lauthra says on Jul 25, 2007, 22:02: Well, I grew up in Cali so the heat it's like being home on a very hot day. Paffy, my male cat, jumped on my back once when I was doing bow pulling posture, was funny and painful :P Sure, you should go to the studio I go to, it's good :) My cats are like children as well, not a lot of people understand the way I feel about them, some have even said 'But they're just cats', and got a very nasty look in response! So you come to Colombia on a regular basis? Nato (='.'=) |
houstongal says on Jul 26, 2007, 06:34: No I don't, but I wish I did! Ouch...doing bow is bad enough but with a cat on your back it's worse. If I practice yoga at home (rarely), I have to close the door. There's nothing worse than having cat hair in your face when you're sweating and trying to get into a position! But then they meow outside the door. A friend used to tell me that if she dies, she would want to come back as one of my cats. Sounds like coming back as one of your cats would be equally good!

My bf and I are moving to a new flat in a month and it has a tiny 'maid room' which we are going to turn into a cat passage, we seem to always find cats in need in the streets so we help them out, but don't want to put our own cats at risk. He is as mad as cat as I am! Nato (='.'=) |

houstongal says on Aug 5, 2007, 14:32: Funny...I never think of my cats as a hobby! They are companions of the best kind. Although I grew up with dogs, I have a stronger connection with cats and I miss them when I'm traveling.
Dan says on Aug 6, 2007, 01:35: ok, maybe not hobby, how about same interests then? I've grown up with dogs and cats (not at the same time, I don't think)... I like both, but I like cats more. If I wasn't away from home so much, I'd get one. God Bless America! |

houstongal says on Sep 6, 2007, 10:48: Believe it or not, I am allergic to cats, dogs, trees, dust, mites, mold, etc. But I took allergy shots for 2 years and have gotten much better. I think 2 cats in the house is OK, but more would cause me problems.
capitan_centella says on Sep 6, 2007, 11:11: Houston gal, thnaks to add me as a friend. I´m honored. "When you open your eyes, you turn around with the world, But it can change, if you only close it, and see a dream to yourself." Me. |

houstongal says on Sep 6, 2007, 20:55: I have a big house so my allergies aren't too bad with the 2 cats. But once I visited a friend who lived in a small apartment and she had 4 cats. My nose started itching immediately.
Lauthra says on Sep 6, 2007, 21:35: Awww bummer, we have a small flat and 4 cats too! You wouldn't have that good of a time here! Nato (='.'=) |
Dan says on Sep 6, 2007, 23:18: Cat's a fun to watch. I had a friend that had a laser pointer and the cats would chase after it all over the house. Cat's are fun in general. God Bless America! |
gringolondinense says on Sep 7, 2007, 04:33: wow HG!! you had allergy shots every week? gosh! What were they, are they extracts of the allergen to desensitize your body?
houstongal says on Sep 7, 2007, 10:36: Yeah, allergy shots every week. They rotated arms. Because I was allergic to so much stuff, the serum was rather thick. But it was probably better than all of the sinus infections I kept on getting. But now I rarely have any problems. I don't even have to take Claritin during hay fever season.
gabolicious says on Sep 7, 2007, 19:01: Dios mio!!! HG amas mucho a los gatos!!! te admiro demasiado por eso... yo veo un gato y salgo corriendo del lugar!!! jajajajajajajajajaja "The new land of opportunities: Colombia!" ----- Mr Miguel_Clavo on PBH |
Dan says on Sep 7, 2007, 22:17: What my friends did was to get the cats fall over the furniture. They had a couch set about a couple feet away from the wall for walking behind it. They would shine the laser all over the floor when they were chasing it pretty good, they would flash it on the couch and when the cats got close to it, shine it on the wall behind it and they would not even stop and jump up at it falling to the floor again. They did this a few times before the cats got tired of it. Hour later, start right back up... entertaining all right! God Bless America! |
Lauthra says on Sep 9, 2007, 11:38: Well, we're having the small place to save up for a big house with a garden *fingers crossed*. I'm glad I'm not allergic to cats, but if I was I'd prolly had the shots as well :) Nato (='.'=) |
houstongal says on Sep 9, 2007, 14:22: Mine retrieves too! Her favorite toy is parsley. She likes it thrown (it doesn't go very far) and she runs back with it in her mouth. She prefers the parsley with more stem than leaves. She's an odd cat. She loves to eat nuts, lettuce, peaches, cantaloupe and other fruit, mushroom stems, tortilla chips.
Lauthra says on Sep 9, 2007, 14:36: Oh my Paffy would eat anything too! Jelly (jello-o), pineapple, grapes, and some of the stuff you mentioned. Delly goes mad for crackers, just bitting them, she doesn't really eat them. And Bitty started covering the food bowls with whatever is around, t-shirt, trousers etc. They are all odd! Nato (='.'=) |
houstongal says on Sep 9, 2007, 20:08: One day I'll take a photo of her with the parsley in her mouth. It is so cute. She runs with it as if she's so proud to catch it. Then she attacks it and in a few hours it's limp. Oh, the ferocious hunter of parsley! jaja!
Dan says on Sep 9, 2007, 20:38: both of your cats are on strange diets... haha. One nice thing about cats is that they all have their own personality. God Bless America! |
Lauthra says on Sep 10, 2007, 09:18: I dunno if this video will work, but it's Paffy retreiving a tea bag bag, when he was just a kitten :) Nato (='.'=) |
houstongal says on Sep 10, 2007, 20:16: Ohhhhhh how CUTE!!!! Isn't that funny how they retrieve? I need to make a video of mine with the parsley the next time I'm home. Mine likes to run too. She loves being chased up the stairs or in the house. I should get another cat for her to play with, but she interacts with humans more because she doesn't have another cat to play with (Snowflake is to old to play).
Dan says on Sep 11, 2007, 06:37: Cute... I don't think I've seen cats retrieve stuff like that before. he's cute God Bless America! |

houstongal says on Nov 20, 2007, 15:07: Yes, the kitties are my kiddies. The white one was recently diagnosed with diabetes and is on twice daily injections of insulin, in addition to her weekly subcutaneous fluids. My home looks like drug addicts live there!
lampltr says on Nov 20, 2007, 17:22: HG, you are a riot haha, can picture this now....sincerely hope your white one comes out of it ok. Look at natural herbs (In order of preference; *Pata de vaca leaf*, Pedra hume caa, bitter melon, chanca piedra, even guava to add to the water or food, but ask your vet first if combining with insulin. Have heard in humans, is possible to take together but the insulin needs to be adjusted. Infusion is main prep. method (For first name in list). Is widely used in So. America, but also too 6 other common names for the same leaf. If you need these please let me know.
houstongal says on Nov 21, 2007, 06:38: Thx for the advice lampltr. It's been almost 2 months since she was diagnosed and she's doing very well. Apparently her kidney function has improved somewhat, which is a positive. The kitty is 16 or 17 years old so these are typical diseases for a cat her age. I appreciate your concern.

Man Tequila says on Jan 9, 2008, 18:32: I don't think they took my tourist card in Colonia. I kept my card in my wallet and somehow tore the card through my signature. The young argentina who looked at it rolled her eyes in disgust and made me fill out as new one. Not a huge problem, exactly, and maybe she had rules to follow and had no choice. I can fill out a form in fifteen seconds, too much practice. pues se me antoja que sus cantares son de una tierra desconocida, y yo le dije si a usted le inspira, saber la tierra de donde soy... con mucho gusto y a mucho honor... |

CatGirl says on Feb 21, 2008, 14:26: HG- Hey gal just an FYI on Philipines, you had mentioned you were going and wanted me to give you an update or tips. Our Chief of surgery just returned yesterday (Operation Traditional Healing Ways) Spoke with him this AM. ooops! ....Did I say that? |
houstongal says on Feb 21, 2008, 15:27: Thanks CG! I'm not worried, it's just that travel restrictions create more work for me (forms to fill out, approvals to chase down) and it eliminates the possibility of my being able to spend a few extra days out on a beach on vacation. Just a drag. The company will take good care of our security, they always do. My guess is that we'll have a driver assigned to us. It takes the fun out of traveling for work.
CatGirl says on Feb 21, 2008, 20:03: HG: The sunsets can be spectacular (if you are away from the smog). It is very humid - whoa!. Don't drink the water...and you will need a driver -guaranteed. You will see what I mean. I have a funny story to tell you about when our driver let me drive in Manila HA! - Enjoy the shopping if anything ooops! ....Did I say that? |
houstongal says on Feb 21, 2008, 20:08: Well of course....I ALWAYS enjoy shopping in the Pacific! My guess is that the heat and humidity won't be any worse than Malaysia.
