The original post mentioned t-shirts. It seems like the ratio of t-shirts with English writing vs. Spanish writing is 20 to 1 (most are in English). Although a lot of countries are like that. You want to wear find a t-shirt in the language of the place you are visiting and everything is in English. Where are the best places to get Colombian soccer jerseys?

If Nancy Pelosi were a Republican, she would be considered a laughing stock. The media, talk shows, SNL, etc. would be all over her. I would love to see it get passed, but not with Nancy Pelosi ensuring it never goes to a vote. Obama & Rohm Emmanuel are evidently dead set against it as well. The Democratic Party ironically hates to see democracy at work in Colombia. They would rather Colombia become another Venezuela or Cuba.

I remember going to a nice private beach on Del Rosario. The beach I went to in Cartagena was nice, but people are constantly trying to sell knockoff sunglasses, knockoff watches, sombreros, massages, etc. It makes it very difficult to relax and enjoy the beach.

Weather changes are cyclical and completely normal. Humans can't change the weather if we tried. Heck, thousands of years ago Greenland used to be green...did SUVs cause that? I spend 2-3 weeks in Medellin every year (usually in February). I've never encountered that much rain. I've never been too hot or cold in Medellin - even at altitude (although I'm used to New England winters).

I'm becoming used to Colombian food. Mexican or other spicy foods are my favorite; love habaneros. The only thing I've had in Colombian cuisine that I couldn't stomach was mondongo. It was in a really nice broth with cilantro; but I couldn't get past the texture.
