Getting American Visa

New twist on getting an American visa in Colombia. I am from New Zealand and we dont need a visa to visit the States on tourism. However five years ago making my tenth visit to the States I was denied entry for no particular reason (seriously), relieved of my shoelaces and belt and put in Arlington National Detention Center for the night. just back from Ecuador where I renewed my propietario visa.. not to hard.. and they gave me two years which was nice... one more renovacion and im a resident.

i could of renewed in Bogota but it always seems simplier to leave the country and bogota sucks so there you go.. if anyone wants any advice on renewing the visa let me know..

Im off to Ecuador to renew a propietario visa.... i was in bogota where i decided against doing it.. but i did ask the lady at the desk a few questions and she told me that i had to bring along the balance of the business,, the camara de comercio thing and also la declaracion de renta... but if one is a Persona Natural you dont have to declare RENTA if you make less than a certain amount of your patrimonia is less than 90 million.... so am i right in saying i dont need to bring a copy of my decl ...

just reading the 'el colombiano' newspaper this morning.... and here is some odd news... there is a big report about how there has been not one murder in the city for four days straight. also from 1st january to the 24th september there have been no murders in 107 of the neighbourhoods in the city which represent 40% of the cities population.

pretty positive news... and 500 new cops are coming on line in the next days ...

whats the deal with bringing some money into the country to buy a house.... how should i go about doing this without attracting to much attention. also any foreigner out there got a mortgage with a Colombian bank.... ive been doing a little bit of research.. seems you need to put down 30% and they'll lend the rest. any info anyone.......cheers

i arrive at work every day here and read the local paper and every single day it seems like the colombian bolsa is setting a new record...

last year colombias stock market went up 106% or so.. the second best preforming stock market in the world.. the year before it was up 126% over the last five years it is up over 1000%... just this year it is already up over 10%... yesterday alone up 3.6%...bancolombia has doubled in like six months it seems...

having started my business three months ago and being that my student visa is about run its course i am heading off to either Maracaibo or Panama City to get an investment visa... I know a few guys who have got there visas in Venezuela with little trouble is it just as easy in Panama City to get an investment visa.. I will have all the necesary paperwork etc..
