I can tell you from experience that 99% of home start up "kits" don't work and are designed to take your money. There are a few that are legit. These consist of things like getting fake flowers in bulk and making arrangements and mailing them to people and printing flyers, etc and mailing them to people but you have to do so many a day to make anything. But I haven't seen any that you could make a living from. I had at least 3 websites that didn't even break even. Then I became an importer and sold things on ebay. I made a killing for a few years then people see what you are doing and sell the same thing you are at slightly above what you buy them for. Do people know that you have to mark things up to make money? Things are tough right now. I dabbled in the bootleg market but it's risky. If customs find it, they keep it. Your money is gone. At least in the USA not sure about Colombia. Maybe sell those Niggaz Jeans I read about the other day on here. lol

There is so much oil in the waters off of Florida that it bubbles right out of the ground. I seen it with my own eyes. I guess they are saving that until they really need it. When the time is right to drill the oil, the environmental groups will be trampled over and told what to do. Miamimike- I'm getting a diesel to run on SVO soon also. Make a small batch of bio-diesel to use for warm up/shut down instead of diesel. Keep all the money you can in the USA. That's a great movie. I get 750 channels and every time I see that movie, I have to watch it. I also like when he said "We had just enough gas to make it to the island, ..... we're out of gas" When I was in Peru, everyone kept giving me good luck beads... they are different kinds of plant seeds. I also met a fisherman that everytime he went out he would light a smoke bomb in front of a cross... I asked him what it was and he told me he was praying to the river God or something like that. But at least they get free health care now. Most of the Indians here in Florida are doing ok. I also say move to Peru. I prefer the smaller towns where everyone is equally poor. Buy a scooter and go riding with all of your new friends. The food is good and the girls very friendly.

I stayed in a hotel in Peru and was told not to flush the TP. I went ahead and did it just to see what would happen. A few hours later, I smell sewer and look out the window. There is the manager with a shovel digging out the clog. I did hear him mumbling something about a "gringo" lol. I used the trash after that. A plumbing code in S.A. That's a good one. The only code that I know of is to make sure the pipe goes downhill. lol

I lived in Alaska for 3 years. In some areas I had to face into the wind to take a breath or you would get a mouth full of mosquitoes. They love to land on top of your head and bite you through your hair. Itched like hell. Bite through your jeans also. The Amazon jungle is spotty. Some places aren't bad and others are loaded with mosquitoes. The main difference is that the ones in the jungle can take evasive maneuvers and you can't kill the damn things and they carry malaria & yellow fever.

I paid around $100 for my shot a year ago here in Florida. I would be more worried about malaria,leishmaniasis,hepatitis a,b&c. Hepatitis shots are highly recommended. I paid $150 for the 3 shot combo for Hep A&B. I think there are cheaper single shots that last 3 years. No shots for hep c, use condoms.

They don't mean anything by the word gringo. If it was a negative word, they wouldn't say it to me right to my face. I'm a big guy and could easily beat them down. They wrote "gringo" on your receipt just to identify you. I'm sure the restaurant didn't have a touch screen computer that printed table # 7 on the receipt. I do like calling my Puerto Rican friends Mexicans, they like that. lol

Round trip is always cheaper with US companies. One time the cheapest ticket that I found included a hotel in the price, go figure. Some of the large travel agencies run good specials in the off season. I have also had my bag lost. All that was in it were some old clothes and I received something like $700 and that was 15 years ago.

Last I heard, there was a tax exemption of $100,000 on money earned abroad. I personally don't think it's right for a country to get taxes from money earned in another country. The $10,000 form is to track drug money laundering. It worked so well that there are now no drugs in the USA.
