germuno comments on Spirit Airlines -- My First (and maybe last) Experience Sometimes I yearn back to the good old regulation days. But then I was on expenses so my reasoning is skewed. These are the good old days if you've got the time and versatililty

germuno comments on Cartagena Airport to Cartagena Terminal de Pasajeros? I understand that taxis are cheap but most of the time I like public transportation over taxis and rental cars when time and logistics are not a problem. I've never flown in or out of cartagena before this next week but know the city pretty well having passed thru it a few times in the past Who knows how I'll feel after a red eye out of Los Angeles arriving in Cartagena at noon the next day. But unless I'm seriously discombobulated upon arrival I will first seek out the bus. The only time I've taken a taxi in Cartagena before was to transport my food and beer to the harbor for a boat trip to panama.

germuno comments on Spirit Airlines -- My First (and maybe last) Experience Thanks. I do too. It's for this weekend Taxes are a full third of the price. I wonder if the $104 listed for Cartagena's airport tax is the departure tax? Or is that extra?

germuno comments on Spirit Airlines -- My First (and maybe last) Experience I booked this round trip for 2 on spirit air to Cartagena from Los Angeles with a 3 hour switch of planes in Lauderdal both ways. Booked it 2 months ago for this month's travel. At less than $300 each we felt we couldn't pass it up. They charge for any checked baggage. Not a problem for us with very little carry on. What and where to eat is undetermined. ADULT Fare 352.00 USD, 15.00 USD, US 911 Security fee 104.00 USD, CO Airport Tax CTG 61.60 USD, US FET 10.00 USD, US Animal Plant Health Inspection Service 27.00 USD, US Passenger Facility Charge 14.00 USD, US Immigration fee 11.00 USD, US customs Fee -------------- Total Fare 594.60 USD

germuno comments on LAS LLAVES MAGNÉTICAS....DE LOS HOTELES ( HELPFUL INFO) IDENTITY THEFT ADVICE rocinante...I jumped into amazon.com on a computer that I have used before to order things and it didn't come up with anything personal. It requests me to log on to get personal recommendations. Which it does in abundance. Agree with you on the original post. People like conspiracy stuff and this sure fits into that category Got a kick out of the op stating that it's against the law for the hotel to charge for unreturned cards. Yep all 190 plus countries in the world have this policy

germuno comments on Ecuador wins! Uribe doesn't show me any cajones going to the meeting alone He has U.S. backing and is as much a puppet to them as anybody in S A is to Chavez There isn't much difference between any of the principals in this case. But the only one who has actual military experience is Chavez. If i had to have somebody have my back it would be him. He can fight. Having said that I don't think he's any better than any of the other politicians from the 4 countries directly envolved. They all will say anything and do anything for personal advancement. The people are secondary to all of them.

germuno comments on Great article: For Hugo Chávez, problems over FARC are just beginning I don't know all the facts but I do know you can't put a lot of faith in what ANDRES OPPENHEIMER has to say.

germuno comments on Anywhere in the US to Cartagena $88 each way + tax... Spirit Air. I don't believe in insurance either for transient type transactions Chapin. Travel insurance rates up their in profits for carriers with extended appliance warranties. Better off taking the $12 premium they offer in this case to the roulette table

germuno comments on Anywhere in the US to Cartagena $88 each way + tax... Spirit Air. I think they're pretty much up front about it Raay. But you're right that you have to unsubscribe. Looks like they just started this route in March and don't offer the $88 fare until May. Does anybody out there ever subscribe to travel insurance?

germuno comments on Anywhere in the US to Cartagena $88 each way + tax... Spirit Air. Thanks for the shout Chapin. Don't know why you would opt for the insurance as I never do. But feel the extra $9 for the trial membership might be worth it.

germuno comments on More about recession Under modern rules a prediction of a recession is sort of like looking backwards a few months. So the states could be in one but don't know. In my college days a recession was defined in econ 101 as the downward side of a depression which is what the states are undergoing right now. Whay's it all mean. Beats me. Just felt like writing something
