Thank You! Thank you for the helpful comments. I guess I was being presumptuous thinking there might be an "interview room." Our case is about as plain vanilla as it can be. it is good to know that hand holding would be my only role. I'm sure my wife would prefer going to a nice dinner several times to having me spend our money for an additional plane ticket we don't need.

Yes, the package was sent by overnight mail. It was received. The check hasn't cleared though. The Nebraska Service Center is raising my blood pressure. It sounds like some people are having the same problem with some of the other service centers too. Thanks for the tip about the check though.

Security Thank you for the responses to Ali's e-mail. I too will be traveling to Medellin for the first time within the next few weeks. I read the U.S. State Department website and about had a coronary. My experience, however, has been that people who have actually visited Medellin have a very different perspective. Thanks again.

I am disappointed to see that there were no responses to your inquiry. I might at some point be interested in importing Colombian arts, crafts, etc. to the Midwest. I spoke to a shop-owner in Puerto Rico about importing emeralds, but I didn't learn a whole lot. Have you found any information since your posting?
