hi chris, thanks for the note. well, friend, if we're lucky, we'll be home for christmas. barring that, we just get home as money allowes.

permanently? when the youngest finishes her highschooling and gets off to university. then mom and i can go home for good. her oldest brother (our daughter's) will look out over her as he lives in washington d.c. and she'll be going to georgetown university in washington.

Thanks for your post. It's hard for people to see the whole picture about plastic surgeons, not only the cosmetic procedures, but reconstructive surgery as well. For me, it's what keeps me going. You can't imagine how improving the way a baby with a congenital defect or a burn patient deal with their tragedy makes you want to be a better person every day. It makes you realize your own problems are of no importance in comparison to their very real and very painful matters.

Hey Chris, thanks for your nice message!! I am very passionate about life in general, starting from my job. I can't imagine doing a thing I don't truly love for a living and God has blessed me with a great career and the chance to really help people. Funny how you say you can change the world one person at a time, I am a volunteer for Operation Smile and that's precisely their slogan...Changing the world one smile at a time. That's what it's all about.
I feel that in a country like mine and even in a city like Villavicencio, where I currently live and work, there are so many good things you can do for people who don't happen to be as lucky as some of us have been, and the simple matter of treating them nicely and helping them out might help some of them to be less violent and thus make this land peaceful someday.
When a surgeon makes a mistake he or she has to deal with it in a very ethical and professional manner, that is the key to avoid big problems. You have to stand by your patient, be sincere about what happened and what the next step is and never ever underestimate his or her pain or worries about their condition. Every single procedure, as simple as they may appear to be, can turn into a nightmare if things aren't done correctly or you are not paying attention...my little ritual before I start any type of surgery (this is classified info...lol!) is to close my eyes, pray for a little bit to make everything go perfectly well and visualize my patient happy and healthy after the surgery. It works, 100% of the time!!! The other important part about my surgeries is I have to have music in my OR, that's why the first thing that comes out of my purse is my Ipod and it's speaker!!! Operating is fun, it has to be, in a very responsible manner, so music has to be a big part of it!!!
Thanks again!!!

freaky.....i some how mistakenly posted this to aji's page. ?????

yeah, but i haven't touched my axe in years. now my youngest plays with it. i play classic. in fact, i used to--back in the ice age of my life--play lute. i've also played sitar, sarod, and tamboura. i really like indian music. i always had trouble with steel strings, used to have an old gibson f hole and a.....shit, i forget, a real nice pro studio axe....but them steel strings just really did numbers on my fingers. with a sitar and a sarod, they're not strung as tight and it's a little easier. but when i played all the time it was always nylon or gut strings.

where are you now? we're stuck in lodi...........daytona until the youngest finishes high school and HOPEFULLY she chooses a university close to our oldest son, so he can ride shotgun. mom and i want to go home. i got no more mtns to climb.

you like dobros? i LOVE the guy in union station who plays behind allison kraus. the best.

Woah that's a wicked ax head dude. Looks a bit like one of Zakk Wylde's guitars.

I play but not nearly as much as I'd like. I used to play a lot when I was younger but now the whole "job" and "life" thing gets in the way. I've got an ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 w/ a Marshall MG412A half-stack. Nothing terrific but it gets the job done when I want to piss off the neighbors. :)
