bitstr3am, I did get burnt once by prepaying and the florist went out of business, but no problems so far with the present one, I send flowers twice a week and I'm in Bogota 3 days a month or I would still be using www.flowerstocolombia.com, the first florist I ever used was floras2000, I felt they low balled me on the price then added a delivery charge, my fault, I was in a hurry, I just ordered anyway, thats when I changed florist, I still use flowers to Colombia outside of Bogota, plus they have some other non florist services I use. I like their personalized service.

Before I started doing like ColombianoGringo, I always used www.flowerstocolombia.com for deliveries in Bogota, since I'm in Bogota once a moth I found local shop that I pay in advance. Flowers to Colombia actually helped me find them!! Not as good as the export flowers I got from them, but gets the job done. (did get ripped of once however by one local vendor!) Even now, I still use them outside of Bogota, sent my fiances mother flowers today for valentines day in Medellin, delivered in about two hours and I didn't place the order until 1:00 PM. Good people and great service and located in Colombia, been using them for several years.

the best place i've stayed at is bogota colombia lodging I've stayed there several times and tried several other places before I found Bob at bcl.

Haven't been there since feb. but it's a great place with lots free benefits, near the airport, shopping etc.

They also have larger deluxe apartments across the street for a little more.

ripped off gringo? I don't feel ripped off, I don't stay in Cali, but I rent an apartment in Bogota several times a year for $50 a night. Much cheaper than a good hotel and other apartments I've rented in Botoga in the past.

It's kind of like PeteE says, I arrive, I pay, the apartment is set up with everything I need, (even a maid), and I leave happy, and I've seen many others leave pleased.

I travel a lot, I'd like to get as good of service and apartments in other countries I travel, including the good ole' USA.

Don't know about cartagena, but what I consider a good bogota hotel will cost from $70 up to over $100.00. The radison is about $185 & up.

Recommended in a newsletter I first learned about PBH 2 years ago in a newsletter put out by Bob Summers from Bogota Colombia Lodging, at the time he owned a marriage agency and from time to time he mentioned PBH as a good source of Colombia information.

He still has a newsletter and recommends PBH, it was mentioned a month or so ago in his newsletter.

I stay here about every 3 months, it's about 8 min. from the airport and directly across the street from a nice mall called Salitre Plaza, I think it would be in the Northwest area of town, no where near $100.00 a night for a complete apartment.

I've done a little research, their ladiesfromcolombia.com website website states "We specialize in introducing men to single Colombian women. Since 1996" BS, I remember receiving a newsletter 5 or six months ago when they bought the business.

Read their membership policy, another quote "Ladies From Colombia reserves the right to cancel your Membership or deactivate your membership, at any time with or without cause, and without giving you notice" They even require your drivers licence number!

For their apartments they have an "Airport welcome service" another quote from their website, "Airport Welcome service: $13.99 for 1-2 people & normal baggage, $27.98 for 3-6 people & normal baggage. Must be paid with your reservation. This is for our greeting service and guidance only. We will accompany you from the airport to our facilities. Taxi fees are not included and can be paid in US Dollars or Colombian Pesos at the official Taxi Stand at the Airport. ( An estimate of the maximum standard taxi fee is $10.00 per taxi. Taxi costs depend on weekday, evening, Sunday and Holiday rates. )" They charge you 14.00 to 28.00 dollars to meet you at the airport and them make you pay for a taxi to the apartment?

They have two web pages with two different prices for the same rooms and apartments but no prices on the actual reservation form, hummm is there something fishy here?.

Armenia finca I made reservations for a finca at www.colombialodgingresources.com , they have great service and know a lot about Colombia, I got low cost in country airfare from their travel agent, airport pick up etc. Also got a good price on a rental car. (much less than the airport price) and got a lot of information about how NOT to get ripped of as a tourist.

I stayed almost across the street from the National Cafe Park and paid about $20.00 a night.
