Economics 101 Debt is good! Credit is even better. I know that's a difficult concept for you but it's true.

Obviously you've no tolerance for anyone who acts, thinks, or believes differently than you CA. That's why you've buried yourself in a 3rd world nation. What the hell do you care how America and Brittan are spending their money? You're a racist and a anarchist. Do you have ties to FARC?

What, you think you impress me because you read? How many people is that feeding? Have you opened a business that provides real paying jobs for the people of Colombia? Oh, that's right, to do that you'd need "consumers". You might even have to cater to the pigs of the western world. Forget it, let the people starve.... You've been locked up in your room way too long. Take a trip to India and see what western consumerism has done for them. 20 - 30% annual pay increases, and a whole new population of, dare I say, consumers. People of Colombia, open your doors to western ways. Promote TLC and prosper.

Whatever gave you the idea that I'm frustrated with "home" was derived in your own delusional mind. America rocks! That's why the line to get a visa is sooooo long.

By the way. Isn't it consumerisms that drives prosperity. Wouldn't that be the liberator of the Colombian women that are currently forced to sell their bodies to the swarms of gringo sex tourists? On the one hand you try to convince us you're an advocate of the poor and destitute, on the other you want to slander the mechanism that would lift them out of poverty. All of south America is being eyed by the corporate world. There's an untapped wealth of cheep labor to be had. The problem for Colombia is exactly what morphus posted above. 'If I'm being warned against traveling there, why the hell would I invest?' Like it or nor that's a cultural problem that needs to be resolved from within. There's a new game in town and those that get in will prosper, those that don't will slip still further into economic despair. It is a race and with respect to SA Brazil is looking like the fastest runner.

I agree with you as well, most men in America welcome equality. We like our women educated and worldly. We also wish they'd take out the garbage or mow the lawn now and then.... But guess what, that's the other side of the coin. Western women want equality and chivalry. Any idea how difficult it is to straddle that chasm? "Open the door for me and stop treating me like I'm different...."

CA's going to have a party with you I would bet it's the same as any other demographic, all of the above. It doesn't really matter where you are. Human nature is generic. Some men will look for love and get taken by women "gold diggers". Some men will use women for sex. Some men and some women will look for a relationship and find one. Some will negotiate a price for an exchange upfront. Others will negotiate it later, after the fact . . . how can you generalize these things?

Why don't you tell us, what are you looking for?

Cancun rocks for party life but Cozumel has much better diving. I've taken PADI courses up through Divemaster. The rescue class was the most fun. If you continue MC (and I hope you will) don't forget about the world of shipwrecks. So have I been misinformed, is the scuba in Cartagena that bad?

Those hot dive instructor are something. It must be the sense of adventure mixed with their work attire . . . considered throwing away my 'fortunes' to spend the rest of my life kicking around the Carib with her ;-) Hey CA, what sort a tourist would that have made me?

I'm sure you're right, but when trying to mix metaphors with seething sarcasm it can become convoluted. ie, you wouldn't really go "down on" a Divemaster if the intent was to have him/her guide you on a SCUBA tour (sort of like a sex tour but with a regulator, BCD, fins . . . ) I did meet a Divemaster in Bonaire I would have gladly gone down on/with, semantics aside. She was hot! Unfortunately, I think she was just after passage to the states so I had to say no. Else risk being accused of sex tourism.

bb - I wouldn't hold it against her. Unless she has her own money / visa . . .

I'm not sure you if realize it but your postings are easily viewed as derogatory toward Colombian women. They scream of, "come to Colombia where the women are cheep and easily had. Flash them your money, your passport, and your wallet and take them any way you will." Just because you sprinkle them with, "It's all your fault you American swine" doesn't make it less of an insult.

But then again, maybe that's what you're really aiming for.

Thanks to CA My dive buddy and I are planning a trip to Cartagena in November. I've heard scuba sort of sucks in Colombia (unless you get out to Malpelo and Cocos, maybe in 08) so we we're questioning the trip. But last night while bumming out over all of the chubby chicks in the states I had an inspirational though brought on by CA. We're going to have tee-shirt made up with "Sex Tourist" on the front. "Once You go Down with a Dive Master You'll Never go Down With Anyone Else" on the back. Then we'll walk around with copies of our passports pasted to our foreheads and our peckers hanging out of our shorts...

CA ,now you've changed your story Is it the sexual predators leaking into Colombia to rape and pillage or is the local men abusing their own? No one is arguing with you that people living in poverty are forced into bad situations for the purpose of survival. This whole thing started because "you" accused the OP of being a part of the problem, a "sexual tourist" aiding in destroying the women of Columbia. It's ok if you're seeing your error but at least admit it.

This from a girl 'friend' living is BQ who is 31, quite fit, well educated, but still living at home . . . "Most of the married men here have many girlfriends. There is not much money so they will offer to take care of you if you will be with them". That isn't some pasty Canadian gringo visiting for a quicky that she's referring to. I guess you're going to tell us that doing threesomes with some local allows more dignity than rolling the dice and sleeping with a few "sexual tourists" in hopes they'll offer you monogamy. There are large corporations all over the world looking to the South Americas as the next India. If you want to help Colombian women why don't you work on driving local corruption out, so they will consider moving their companies in. Until then, take your misguided witch hunt elsewhere.

I was living in Atlanta when good-old-boy Newt was preaching impeachment and family values. That was, until he fell for a choir girl about 15 years his junior. But then again, can we blame them. After all it's just the man exploiting these helpless little girls with his riches and promise of a better life. Than God must be ugly". The reference to man being all mankind not just males.

Women in Colombia are being subjected to men from richer countries who use them for sex. Ha! Bullshit! If they are laying down and spreading their legs while holding out their hands or their hopes. Then they are equally at fault. If there's even fault to be had. If you're going to preach morality at least preach it with an even hand.
