It has been my experience that in Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, Venezuela, no one really gives a damn what the poor or blacks have to say. In other words people here about the problems here b/c they are noticed.

fennell01 comments on Girlfriend Robbed Again..... damn right I was angry when i posted this I see her eye makeup running down her face and the red mark on her shoulder....yes I wanted to kill someone....this is a normal reaction? Who can say? I was a Boxer(and a soldier..101st) for many years and I would want several rounds with the shit that did this. But hatred? Man I dont hate anyone...i especially dont hate Colombia...I love Colombia, but the problems in that country will not be cured until people stand up for themselves and respect and take care of one another. I have watched and read about and heard from my friends about all of the Fu#ked up shit in Colombia. You can say it is only a small portion of the people that commit this shit but it is a large group of people that allow it to happen. If there were terrorist armys in the woods here you dont think we would all be "hunting"...maybe its just our "Macho" spirit dont know....

One time walking cerca de her apartment and the other recently near the bank. I am not a total gringo and I beleive her 100%. Like have have said this girl never one time asked me for greenbacks. Comparing the economy (and size of middle class) of the EEUU and Colombia..well is there a comparison?(US unemployment 4.7%) How much financial aid do we send to Colombia????Africa????. Our poor in the EEUU have Chevy Tahoes and cellphones, free housing, food stamps, access to world class medical..(see Charity Hospital). The poor in Colombia die if they are sick, dont have a pot let alone a cell phone......

If you want a wife...a good woman...someone to share and grow with ...someone to love you forever there are a few tell tale signs that I have observed with women you need to avoid. Boob jobs(take off points for multiple operations) Studio F clothing(you are digging a financial grave) works at Bar or Disco(i dont think I need to elaborate) has no real job but drives a car(unless her parents are rich guess who is paying for the car?)new nariz(i may be wrong on this but someone payed for it) sister tells you she has a novio when you are not around(yes i speak from personal exp) family asks for $ everytime they see you(can you say "family visa") does not answer the phone when you call(guess were she is?) cell phone rings 15 times a day and it is always a guy who is her friend(anymore than two guys "friends" calling per day is a no-go) asks yo ufor money for a family member more than once(i may understand once but how many Colombians do you want to support?)

fennell01 comments on Is Cucuta safe for the dude Recent visit to Cucuta My Novia lives in Cucuta. I was recently there for 10 days. It is bad but not that bad. Not as hot as Cartagena, air pollution not as bad as Bogota. I went exploring on my own while she was in class and never felt threatened, I am 200 pounds and very gringo looking. Overall, it is not a place to visit, unless you need to. There are however, many many many beautiful girls and NO GRINGOS. Of course I did not look at the beautiful girls b/c I have a novia.....lol

fennell01 comments on Hotel in Cartegena not the Caribe I had the pleasure to stay 3 nights at the "4-5 star" Caribe. What a joke. If that is 4-5 stars than I am a Walrus. I think the only reason it is 4-5 stars is because the A/C works and the employees have uniforms. It is a like an old Holiday Inn somewhere. Also, the macho-men at the desk (who stared my g/f down) tried to charge me to have her go up to my room for 15 minutes. In Philadelphia if someone in a cheap suit tried to charge me for watching the TV with my girlfriend...well you know. Anyway, I left that Hotel and went to the Del-Mar, which was nice/nicer, cheaper, sin goon-squad anti-girlfriend macho men.

Especially not a swimsuit model who is finer than sliced bread. She gets hit on non-stop. We were here in the States and at the Gym together. A very nice Gym here and they guys were taking turns trying to talk to her. I dont mind. If she leaves me for another than the sooner the better and she was never worth my time. The thing is, I dont want a Gringa. I have had 100s of Gringas, and I am done with them. I could elaborate on why I am done with them but I think that almost everyone on this post knows why....woman like you would probably be a good start. Danger in Pereira I spent a week in Pereira and never felt as though I was in danger. Maybe I'm just a blind Gringo but in Cartagena and Pereira I felt very safe. I went running near the "gallery" (an area known for drugs and other bad stuff) and people all smiled and waved. Of course I am 6'3" 210pds but I really never felt danger. I met some local guys at the Gym and they took me to a boxing ring where I showed them what its like to fight a Gringo who is not afraid. The Guys were fast and pretty tough but not strong. Much Fun!

We talk about my family and where we are going to go, but I cant help but feel its not gonna happen any time soon. I have read most of the posts including"I was just in Bogota and they are not giving tourist visas", and I am concerned. I have a lawyer and we started the process but there is nothing I can do in EU to stop Bogota from looking at this beautiful girl and saying "no way chica". It is like a freakin concentration camp. They would not allow my girlfriend or my girlfreinds mother to come up to my room, or join me at the pool unless I paid the "manager" 20,000 pesos. If this happened in the States I would have told the "manager" exactly what he can do with the pesos. But I kept my cool. I explained that they had no intention of staying more than 30 minutes to cool down and watch TV for a minute. He said 2 minutes of 30 minutes $20,000. What a scam. I moved to the Del Mar down the street-a good move.

I never like to feel like "the big American with all the money". I would be uncomfortable if some young guy came into my house and started paying for everything, but then I work 60 hours a week, and I dont think there is a Colombian within 5km of my girlfriends house that works 30 hours per week, certainly not her father.

I am sure that I earn more in one day than her father, mother and brothers earn in a week. Their rent is $200 a month. My mortgage is $4000 a month. One of her goals in the future is to purchase an apartment home for her parents. I know that the family comes as part of the package...am I wrong?

They wrote me this letter in English, it was really nice calling me "our brother in law". The had OK shoes on their feet but I think they wanted to be "cool" with new Nike's. They asked me not to tell their sister so I have'nt. I know that her father rents the apartment that they live in and my girl shares a room with both brothers. I feel like the "rich gringo" rolling in with my rental car and video camera and I would like to help her family, but I imagine I will have many opportunities if we end up married. Right now I'm playing it cool, I dont mention my assets at home.

I have met a wonderful colombian girl who lives in Cartagena. I just returned from meeting her and her family. I would enjoy picking your brain about your experience. I have dated many American women but this girl from Cartegena is a breath of fresh air. I am very happy. She is working on a visa to visit me, but I dont think she realizes how diffucult it is.
