When i was living in bogota i met a Irish dude and he said that the Irish had a hard time getting visas or sometimes coming into the country because of the Farcs ties to the IRA. Because he also had British citizenship he just used that to get a visa because it was easier. Dont know if its still the case...maybe contact the Irish embassy in colombia to find out more. good luck
