Looking for an inexpensive hotel in Bogota

I used to stay at Suites Real for about $160.000 per night but it was a waste of money. Does anybody know off of the top of their heads of an inexpensive hotel in Bogota, maybe aparthotel. I am going from Bogota to Medellin in April and was wondering the best travel option. Would it be safe to go by land (bus), or is it just better to go by plane. I just bought a one way ticket from Miami to Bogota. One of the conditions of the ticket is that my "maximum stay is 2 months." How is this implemented if I just bought a one way ticket? I've been to Bogota too many times and have run into many questionable people. I would like to move to Medellin. My question is, which big cities are dangerous? All of my family have told me that Cali is a no no. I lived there while I was a baby in 1980-82 but would like to revisit the place to see how it is. My mother told me it's nothing but rumba. I am 27 and I have a Bachelors from a US university in Finance. I am fluent in English (my native language). I am looking for a English teaching gig in Medellin.
