I cant wait to see those movies. A lot of Colombian made movies put the country in a bad light (Sumas y Restas, etc) but that element of the mafia and drug life does exist there. I get the bs Colombia remarks all the time ("you must have a death wish to go there, bring me back some coke, etc.) but I really don't care and ignore them. They can stay ignorant and I'll enjoy the hell out of my trips.

damn. Too bad it's not in Medellin or I would do the monthly. I've been getting quotes mostly of 1k in Medellin. I would have done the $50 per night but I will just stay with family in Bogota.

thanks for the responses. I have tons of family in Bogota so I didn't need much luxury because I rarely am in the hotel; just a place to sleep after going out late at night without being hassled by my relatives about what time I got home, etc.

no. I usually buy through them. Have flown Miami - Bogota non stop for $199 before round trip. I've never had a stop through them.

They walk more. Genetics. Lunch is the biggest meal, not dinner. A lot of Colombians I know are also very conscious of their appearance, girls especially. A lot of people in the US walk around like slobs.

I would prefer to keep it around $600, but after looking around, it doesn't seem possible. I have seen many sites with places more around $1000 per month. I don't need luxury, but I would like something clean and with WIFI if possible. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the Poblado area either. I have just started my search.

what about also the problem with prepagos that steal things out of apartments? if you had nice furnishings in your apt would you want to rent it out to a coked up sex tourist that is gonna bring prepagos there that might drug him or rob things out of the place? What if there are guys like the ones aforementioned who just keep calling prepagos there, rejecting them, and calling more? Most girls take a cancellation fee, and if you just keep messing around and wasting their time the pimps may show up to get their fee. Sounds like a nightmare for landlords having those types of people hanging around a building. That's what love motels are for. You don't shit where you eat.
