Colombian national visit to US on Tourist Visa

I understand maximum stay for Colombian in US is six months for a tourist Visa? Is this in one duration? If visiting 2 months from December to January, returns to Colombia for 1 month comes back to US for 2 months again, etc ---Is the maximum stay of 6 months in total for one year?

Is it better to only stay 60 days as a norm?

Any input or link to web site with info would be appreciated?
