Colombian Philosopher… let us look for

Sure, we have a country of philosophers, no doubt on it.

Normally the most famous are our politicians which use to make great and beautiful speeches in our plazas giving to our people the suppose-to be keys of our social development and solutions.

More honorable is, undoubtedly, the philosophy you can feel in the works of our writers, painters, movies and even soft operas… Who can say that Gabriel Garcia Marquez is not one of our most important philosophers?

Colombia, Gardel and Tango: "Areopuerto Carlos Gardel"

Colombia, Gardel and Tango

It is near the Anniversary of Gardel who dieds in Medellin on June 24, 1935. Uruguay, Argentina and France dispute his place of birth, but Colombia is alone in his last landing that was in Olaya Herrera Airport in a tragic accident.

Tango is not a foreigner in Colombia. That sensual dance that was conceived in the Buenos Aires’ suburbs (arrabales), found itself at home in places like the old Barrio Guayaquil in Medellín, a place that w ...

THE COLOMBIAN ROLE

Today we can call the international community as a great village. In other words, it is the phenomenon of globalization or free market. Of course, every nation, people or country in such a universal village has a role to play. The question is who distribute such roles? Clearly the rules are those of the economic power, upper politics and good intentions. Even flags are less meaningful before the power of money.

We Colombians suffer very much in the way our international image is ...

Speaking about “Colombian Spanish” is a long conversation. It referrers to a huge country with many regions and sub regions, each one with different characteristics.
