The top ten usability problems
The top ten usability problems in Mozilla. Developers are slowly getting into the usability game, and that’s a Good Thing for open source. I believe OS will make it if they follow (or stay ahead of) the curve from functional to usable to invisible software. We’ve done functional, right now the challenge is to make it usable.

As far as I can tell, Free Software is about 13~14 years behind the usability curve at the moment. It is catching up, but not very quickly. And that bothers me, because we’re kinda running out of time.

13-14 years? I would have guessed 5 years :) I agree though, they are definitely behind the curve usability wise. But look at it this way: they were behind functionality-wise and they caught up. The flexibility of OS might mean they can make some damn usable stuff a lot faster than the coorporations, where there are always politics to be dealt with and money to be made… There’s hoping.
