    My diagram, as yet unfinished, has Audience Needs leading to Persona Design and Task Analysis, and only then User Scenarios being developed.

    I think of Task Analysis as an examination of what they want to accomplish (and not how they want to do it). It’s all the offline pre-requisites for their impending website interaction, combined with post-requisistes (like standards to conform to).

    Once I know who the prototypical users are, and what their goals are for interacting with the site, only then can I build up scenarios of interaction with the website.
