Doomedyouth comments on advice on a travel plan honestly I think that Santa Marta and Taganga are really not worth the visit and I would suggest adding time in other parts of the country (like Bogotà) or consider visiting somewhere like San Agustin or El Cabo De La Vela...Cartagena is unbearable for more than 3 days and you might want to look at leaving there earlier as well...If you do insist on staying in Santa Marta the only worthwhile thing to see is La Quinta De Bolivar which you can do in the afternoon and it is right near where you go to take a bus to Parque Tayrona...if you plan on doing some diving or you enjoy absolutely worthless conversations with a bunch of obnoxious backpackers Taganga might be worth it but you could be spending your time seeing more interesting things and people...when you are in the Cafe zone do not miss El Valle de Cocora...it is spectacular and maybe the most beautiful part of a very beautiful region...

Doomedyouth comments on What is the attraction of living in Bogota I like living in Bogota and personally enjoy it a lot...it isn´t the most ideal place to live admittedly...terrible pollution, terrible traffic and a not so friendly climate are the three most obvious things you notice about the city...regardless there are a lot of things to do within the city and you can easily find a close and inexpensive place to go outside of the city when you crave to get out....you can also get a great taste for Colombia living here as there are a massive amount of people from every part of Colombia...I don´t think I could endure a lifetime here but it´s definitely a worthwhile place to spend a good amount of time in...

Doomedyouth comments on Are drugs legal in Columbia for all those who do not know what or where cartucho is it is better not to...please do not go there

Doomedyouth comments on Cartagena to Santa Marta/Tayrona Santa Marta is not worth a nites stay...if you can get there early during the day that would be best...make sure to visit La Quinta de Bolivar (where Bolivar died) and then if you walk up the street a bit you are able to catch a bus to Tayrona...a bus to Tayrona should run you around 10k and shouldn´t be any longer than an hour and a half...enjoy!

Doomedyouth comments on Are drugs legal in Columbia apparently a few years back it was legal to have a certain amount of drugs for personal use here in colombia...now it is totally illegal but in general the attitude towards ocassional use seems to be pretty relaxed...in general most colombians I have met want nothing to do with using drugs...the only regular drugs users I have met here are europeans and israelis...not to say that americans don´t use but it seems as if the euro´s are here for the drugs and the americans for the whores...

Doomedyouth comments on Mens Magazine offends Colombia!! how is this offensive? it seems slightly clever and at least people will look at colombians as more than violent coke producing maniacs

Doomedyouth comments on Colombianos en Chicago? There is a paisa restaurant and a colombian bakery next door to it....though to be honest I can not remember the address of the place...that would probably be an ideal place for you to start meeting colombians in chicago...there are quite a few there

Doomedyouth comments on Traveler Looking For Info on Santa Marta Santa Marta isn´t famous for the city itself but for the surroundings...the highlight of the city for me is La Quinta De Bolivar which is the home where Bolivar died...it is worth spending a day in Santa Marta to visit but outside of that there isn´t much worth seeing in Santa Marta itself, though Taganga (about 15 minutes away) is good for a nice quiet relaxing day or two...
