Dionysus comments on spring break: 3 options, 2 questions, 1 week to be there....need help Thanks, greenday -- If I waited to buy a BOG-Medellin roundtrip ticket at the Bogota airport the day I arrive, would there still be space for flights that day? I would not want to have to leave the Bogota airport or wait a couple of days for a flight to Medellin.

Dionysus comments on More Modern, Nicer City: Medellin or Monterrey, Mexico Monterrey like Medellin? Where is Monterrey often compared to Medellin? I've never heard that until this post.

Dionysus comments on That's funny! "Barranquilla was like Hawaii"! .......because of 85 degree air temp., and palm trees line the streets! Like 85 degree weather and palm trees alongside the road can't be found anywhere else. Give me a break!

Dionysus comments on Overall, "Shock and Awe" tourism non-existent (as of now) Don't forget that there's still a ton of negative media concerning Colombia in the U.S. (for example). Even though some of us have been there and experienced it for ourselves, there are still A LOT of people who think it's crazy to go there. The culturally insensitive "Shock and Awe" tourists are mainstream, so don't count on their invasion just yet.

Dionysus comments on Peter - new forum for relationships? Exactly, Peter! Peter, I totally agree with you. I say keep the forums the way they are. Otherwise, relationship discussions just might take over your site and it will never be the special site that it is again.

Dionysus comments on What do u think about the Cia report???is this Colombia??? God Blessed Usa...another time...LOL zag the wag Zag, this is absurd! You posted all the CIA's info on Colombia to try to prove two little points? What are you trying to say? Gringos bring HIV to Colombia? Ridiculous!!!! Also, 90% of cocaine in the US is from Colombia....the above report does NOT mean that the US imports 90% of Colombian produced cocaine. Also, Rio de Janeiro is a major launching point for Colombian cocaine bound for Europe. It doesn't just go north to the US, dude. It goes all over the world, including Europe.

Dionysus comments on Cali-Cartagena-Cali? Thanks everyone, especially mad_lion! Thanks for sharing your detailed info., mad_lion. If anyone else is familiar with the Cali X-mas scene, please share. Any partying tips? Where to go? Cultural tips? What clothes to wear? Weather? The Feria itself? Or the Cartagena X-mas idea?

Dionysus comments on POOR but happy, guide to colombia, but you all talk of hotels, apartment suites,............................... BP, thanks for being specific But it's still silly. There are 8 posts between Max's first and yours. "Buy a woman" are your words. In another post of his, before your first comment, he says that he gave a woman money after he had sex with her. A mail order bride, no. A traveller paying for sex, yes. It's just ironic that you're agreeing with a non-gringo traveller guy who paid for sex in Colombia (who thinks he can outsmart Elmo) to say that the gringos who come there to marry are sad loners "who make the most of the exchange rate."

Dionysus comments on AIRLINE TICKETS TO COLOMBIA Says who? Ronaldo: I agree with you. We should all join forces in our common aim to go to Colombia. Tell me, where exactly are you finding these fares? What time of year is your LAX-PEI fare for? The TACA.com website doesn't list Pereira as a destination on its website. Know of a good roundtrip fare from LAX to Cali in the second half of December? TACA has one for $825usd. Is that because it is the high season? Is that the best fare I can find out of LAX for that time of year? I am thinking of going there for the feria.

Dionysus comments on Is it worth it? What is Cali itself like? Thanks for the good posts juanalejo, desi, frank, and marce! Now, is Cali itself a nice city? How is it in terms of art, culture, and people? What is the general nightlife like? If you're not good at salsa, do you miss out on all the fun?

Dionysus comments on Why aren't Las Rolas included in the ongoing Caleñas vs. Paisas debate? Las Rolas is not a place, Hallgeir. Las Rolas are the ladies who hail from Bogota.
