diobahn comments on Caution, Budweiser screen saver...deadly virus

I'm surprised that this story is still going around. I used that screensaver about five or six years ago..it's clever. Then the dreaded warnings started. Never did any damage to my computor.

diobahn comments on any of you mind giants ever heard of.......

Now that post clear that up. Just as informative as, "El gato está debajo de la mesa." >>>> .........y dónde está el perro????????????

diobahn comments on any of you mind giants ever heard of.......

Sinceramente sugiro que los gigantes mentales que andan por aqui no buscan cabras pa' chupar.

In Havana there is a billboard that shouts that 200 milliones de niños en el mundo duermen en las calles – ninguno de ellos es cubano; 200 million children in the world sleep in the streets – none of them is Cuban.

diobahn comments on i know there's many lovers of 'ron medellin' out there....

Yep, you're right. I can buy Cristal in Mandeville, Louisiana, just north of New Orleans,

diobahn comments on i know there's many lovers of 'ron medellin' out there....

If you check your label again, you'll discover that your rum is ' cuban style', made in the Dominican Republic. Ron Matsusalem has been out of production in Cuba for many years. And, considering the absurd continuing embargo, it's extremely unlikely you would find a Cuban product in American stores. And being successful in getting it into the states is a whole 'nuter ball game. Of course, that has nothing to do with your enjoyment of what you have in hand. ¡buen provecho!

diobahn comments on Condems in Colombia

I would guess that only the smart Colombian men use condoms............the others condem them

diobahn comments on Self promotion

A positive comment would be to suggest you learn to speak correct English before you attempt to teach it. There are many fora online that can help.

diobahn comments on Advice on Bogota layover

There most definitely is a left-luggage bodega at the airport.........for a very reasonable fee. Be prepared to properly identify yourself.

diobahn comments on Locked Up Abroad: Colombia

Strikingviking.net Daily journals and photographs of a man's experiences while riding a motorcycle alone from Palm Springs, California to the tip of South America at Tierra del Fuego, ...www.strikingviking.net - 22k It's a long read................

diobahn comments on Typical Colombian foods

< I would go with the locals to the regular everyday Colombian restaurants, and eat whatever my friends there suggested, and that most of it was very good.>>> Sounds to me like your problem is solved........just ask the friendly "locals" you eat with in everyday restaurants.........then you can identify what foods you are eating........maybe even take a notebook, to jot down favorite (if any) foods.

diobahn comments on Coca Tea and Dried up Coca Leaves

coca mate I started drinking mate while traveling thru Perú. I live at
sea level and was very affected by the altitude. It seemed
to open my bronchial tubes and made breathing a bit easier.I brought a box (from a supermarket) home.........and then found
an internet source. I continue to drink it here at home
in the states since I was diagnosed with COPD. The shipments
must clear customs......none have been consficated or turned
away, and I've been ordering it for about six years.

Anyone looking for a 'buzz' will be disappointed. Mate just will
not kick you. I prefer mate made with the whole leaves. Those of
you who prefer to chew the leaves can sprinkle a few leaves with
baking soda , roll them up. place it between your cheek and teeth
and suck away.........that's not my cuppa!

diobahn comments on Things I Never Knew: that there is actually an animal called a .... SLOTH in Colombia.

oso perezoso That's what they are called in Spanish. They have rather interesting survival techniques.

diobahn comments on Barranquilla

10Q Thanks, dear heart !!!

diobahn comments on Another brujeria story

brujeria .....it's only effective if you put a raw duck egg that you have rubbed
all over your body under your bed. Must also burn green coca leaves and inhale the fumes. A prayer to St. Dymphna is especially powerful at such times.

diobahn comments on What foods do Colombians have at Christmas?

Christmas dinner in B'quilla ........my friends there typically enjoy lasagna, green salad with

thousand island dressing, french bread rolls, coca cola and chocolate cake sprinkled with crushed peppermint.....that's been the menu for more than twenty years.

diobahn comments on Costa Rica

bomba'..cos for them, papaya is the equivalent of 'cunt'.

moliendo café

I think you don't have much to worry about if this really bothers you.
Maybe you should start a branch of Grammar Police and start issuing citations. But please don't start in southeast Louisiana......we enjoy eating nachos con queso while watching a rodéo.....we enjoy eating gumbo on Friday nights........we invite our Nanan and Parran to help us scarf up a crawfish etouffé........I wear a babushka on my head when it's windy out.........and enjoy listening to a balalaika strumming when sipping ouzo and nibbling a bitta spanakoupita.

diobahn comments on I want to buy a German Shepard dog in Cali, can someone help?

Pure bred dogs in Colombia Ronald,

Why not try contacting the Asociación Club Canino Colombiano http://www.accc.com.co/

They probably have listings of reliable breeders.
