DeltaDawg comments on Colombian middle class & their preferred McDonald’s culture McD's I remember laughing so hard when I drove by the McD's in Cartagena my first night there. The second night we were walking through town and wanted to get something to eat and mi novia said lets go to McD's. I told her no way. I get too much of that at home. But we did go get McFlurry's later on for her. I just couldn't see traveling 3600 miles to go to McDonalds for dinner. She will get more than she can handle when she gets here.

DeltaDawg comments on Mi Vida Nueva Gratz bud. Lucky you. I am still trying to figure another way to get mine here, after our glitch in the visa system. But now she started a new job and signed an 8 month contract so June will be the earliest she can leave. So another bump to our timeline. Women, go figure, lol. Good luck and again congratz.

DeltaDawg comments on Is Eva Longoria Colombiana? Amen Miguel I saw better looking woman selling sunglasses are the stret corners of Cartagena. Oh man do I love them Colombian women. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love all Latin, hispanic women. But after having been to Mexico, Honduras, Panama, nicaragua and now Colombia. Colombia wins my heart.

DeltaDawg comments on work in cartagena Real encouraging, lol. Spent a couple hours looking for websites with job boards down there. found nothing. If it was a real good job I would definately move permanently, but that would be really tough. Right now I would be happy with jsut a few weeks of helping out with something, room board and a bit of food money. Its amazing what we will do for a woman. LOL.

DeltaDawg comments on Cartagena & Barranquilla Interesting Got back Oct 28 from Cartagena, was there 23 days. Never got bored and didn't hit one club. Matter of fact didnt hit half of what I wanted to do because I wasn't fiancially prepared for the cost. i was expecting it to be a whole lot cheaper than it was. The only time things got boring were when there was a lot of cooking going because it would take her 3-5 hours to cook the dinners and I just wasnt interested in sitting on the beach by myself. But always found something to do.

DeltaDawg comments on You dropped everything and relocated to Colombia Relocate I know if I could find a job there I would move down there to Cartagena in a heartbeat. Flying into Bogota I could see why people are indifferent to it. Seems like any other city but Cartagena was very different and special for me. Would love to stay there.

DeltaDawg comments on Love Colombia, hated the road I loved Cartagena, but if I lived there I would never drive. In the 23 days i was there took taxis everywhere. Some were good some scared the daylights out of me. Although there are some signs there aren't much for rules. At least not that I could figure. These guys weaved in and out and spent half the time flying twice the speed limit honking the horns every few seconds. I saw buses driving on side walks to go around other buses. Motorcycles on the side walks. cars 4 wide on 2 lane roads trying to beat each other to the intersection. Red lights at night? maybe 1 in 3 taxis would stop at the light. So why so many fatalities and accidents?? Go figure. I personally only saw 2 car accidents the whole time there, and was amazed it was so low with how bad the driving was there.

DeltaDawg comments on Photo site for my trip Thanks Gringo, feels like love. Had a timer on the camera so if I told you how she was levitating you would think I was telling stories. lol. I broke the pictures up into several folders and don't know how many you looked at but but I got some real good pictures of El Centro which is the old original walled city of Cartagena, as well as some photos of the wall. There were quite a few trips i either forgot the camera, or were at night and couldn't get good photos. I wanted more pictures of the barrios but feld timid about taking pictures of peoples houses with so many people around.

DeltaDawg comments on My trip to Barranquilla being late Wow, I am glad I am not alone. Here I was thinking my novia was just flaky. She will tell me she'll be on the webcam at 11 and I am never surprised anymore if she is 2 or 3 hours late. Where were you in Cartagena? If you check out the photos I posted of the apartment I was at, i was about 3 buildings from the Hilton in Boca Grande. Heck we may have even walked by each other there.

DeltaDawg comments on DID YOU SEE SHAKIRA ON MTV THIS MORNING? SHAKIRA No, didnt see it. But "la tortura" I dont watch tv often, I actually rather hate tv, but was flipping channels and found out that that video was #11 on the video charts and not a word of English in it. I love it and was glad to see that something like that could happen. personally I downloaded the video myself over a month ago and try to watch it at least once a day. I also have the song in my play list on the computer when I have time to listen to music. I love her music, and the hair color comment earlier, lol. She does have several videos out with her natural hair color. I have about a dozen diff videos downloaded from her music. I may not understand most of it, but doesnt stop me from listening to it. Anyway my 2 cents. Delta

DeltaDawg comments on Wiring money to Colombia from the States. American Bank card Can I use any American bankcard down in Colombia? What Im getting at is if I leave a second bank card with significant other or very trustable friend and need to have money down there as Calipro is trying to do, can you just go into any bank and withdraw funds from ur account? I had read somewhere before that the airport has teller machines but accounts are usually limited to $300 per day. I guess you can ask your bank to raise that amount. But would that work in Calipro's case? Just ideas and wondering on feasability. When I go down hopefully in September, I want to know where I'll be able to draw my travel money from. Thanks

DeltaDawg comments on American passports Thanks for the info, and No I dont want to go back to Panama, been there done that and literally have the T-shirt. Spent 6 weeks there 6 months before the removal of Noriega training my replacement troops in urban warfare and being trained in Jungle warfare, supposedly incase we ever had to go into that situation. LOL little did I know at the time. Im not sure what its like there now, but when I was there a white man couldnt go into cologne and expect to make it out the other side. I snuck off post in a taxi one night to go pick up a little chica I had met and as I was going into cologne the taxi driver had me lay on the floor in the backseat with a blanket over me. He was sweating bullets and said if I was seen at a stop sign we were both dead. Was an interesting night. Anyhow thanks again for info.

DeltaDawg comments on K-1 Timeline, Part 1 K-1 Timeline Hey all, new here and first post. I have been researching this subject myself. When I do finally start I will go K-1 as well because ive heard its half the wait time of the K-3. I will be using a full service visa attorney which is pricey but helps the fiancee with all paperwork as well. she said that because I am in California my time line is 5-6 months. Some states slightly faster some slower but thats the time line I was given for CA. Good luck.
