deathnova comments on Total autonomy for the American military in Colombia? No, there is no U.S. Navy base in Colombia.

deathnova comments on Obtaining original birth certificate from notary This sounds good and well but I keep seeing people on Visa Journey say the original BC was requested at the AOS interview.
deathnova comments on Obtaining original birth certificate from notary The pertinent details are legible but there are parts of it (like numbers of some sort next to the parents names) that are not.
deathnova comments on Obtaining original birth certificate from notary Mine is a copy of a certified copy. I still need the "original" especially since some of the stuff is difficult to read on a copy.
deathnova comments on Obtaining original birth certificate from notary Gator, I have an exact copy of the document we need. I just need the original for USCIS (AOS). Will this copy have all the necessary information? I would very much appreciate it if a PBH member could offer their services here as none of my soon to be wife's family is anywhere near her birthplace outside Medellin. As mentioned I will gladly compensate for this if someone can fetch it and send it by courier (TNT or whatever folks like to use down there to get documents moved quickly).

deathnova comments on south american wife in Quebec Why? This is a perfect opportunity for everyone to accuse Colombianas of being gold diggers.
deathnova comments on So granted theres always that % chance that any one of us is being scammed, why would you create a higher degree of risk by spending all your money on stuff like trips to AU. If she wants a local trip, give her a local trip. I learned long ago not to offer more than is requested/expected except maybe a surprise gift (max couple hundred bucks) here and there.

deathnova comments on Loggi, Are we talking about the same experience I was support to have one year ago or two years ago?

deathnova comments on K1 interview Well, I have a letter from a govt. agency requesting that I not be required to travel so I guess that puts me in a different category.
deathnova comments on Jumbo, I didn't say they do, actually I inferred the opposite. You'll notice that I am in a similar situation as you granted I won't take mine outside the western hemisphere ;)

deathnova comments on I love how you all continue to generalize 20M people on a routine basis just because you're pissed off that you got scammed, or your friend did, or you think you know them so in spite you're just going to try to throw a wrench in everyone elses lives, right? You're forgetting the big picture here, the two of them are both presumably very happy. He does not mind taking her on trips and obviously has the cash if he's traveling from the UK on a fairly routine basis anyhow. Most countries other than the U.S. seem to like sponsored tourist visas. I sponsored mine to go to Aruba on a work visa sponsored by one of the companies I own. It almost worked until she told them I was also her novio, then they told her I needed to e-mail them having requested a copy of my passport and cedula as a condition of sponsoring her for the tourist visa. Very reasonable considering I initially tried to backdoor the system. Take her to Australia and then ask her why she lies to you, then leave her there (kidding, sort of)

deathnova comments on Fiancee Visa Info Please help Regarding the G-325A, mine only filled out one. I filled out the other three pages and signed them "PETITIONER" under the advice of my attorney and USCIS still accepted them. According to him as long as they're filled out and have a signature of some sort some clerk just files them without any scrutiny and they're never heard from again.

deathnova comments on K1 interview Mine demands to go by herself, she thinks i'm being controlling and don't trust her judgment and ability to handle business by trying to attend.
deathnova comments on Jumbo you didn't answer my question though.. are you going to confront her if you have what is the story? I strongly advise that you be stern and not accept any type of logic unless it's an outright apology.

deathnova comments on Catfish has a point, if you're going to be in a relationship with someone you need to do so unconditionally.

deathnova comments on Shoot, if mine ever lies to me i'll make her wish she never met me. Running is for cowards.

deathnova comments on Direct Visa answers please .... please inform me on fiance visa My attorney has not been a waste of money: - He consulted on issues of a personal matter that no one on the internet could possibly answer with any degree of accuracy or certainty - He provided insight on an issue with the initial I-129F package, namely the fact that Miss DeathNova had royally messed up the G-325A and not signed all copies. He saved us from having to delay the whole process thus saving money by pointing out that no one at USCIS actually reads the G-325A. Only an immigration attorney would know the inner workings of USCIS. This turned out to be true as we received an approval on December 10th. - Declaring him my attorney allowed him to receive notices in my absence and while they were bouncing my postal mail (turns out you cant forward immigration mail). - He's going to be signing his name to our DS-156's as the attorney who completed the forms allowing us to submit perfectly typed out, English responses to the questions thus ensuring their accuracy and ensuring there is no delay in the process. These are just the benefits I came across; having professional help is always a huge plus and Mr. Overas in Norfolk (since the OP mentions the Norfolk office) is a top notch guy with a very low fee compared to other firms (eg. $3000 retainer for Troutman Sanders)

deathnova comments on Direct Visa answers please .... please inform me on fiance visa DCF isn't really a short cut to anything. USCIS barely checks anything on your application, they just cash your check, sit on your file for 4 months, do a 10 minute review, and stamp almost all of them with an approval then forward to the embassy. It all ends up at the embassy in the end and thats where the real scrutiny happens.

deathnova comments on From what i've witnessed paisas hate everything costeña just because. No need to read into it.

deathnova comments on Direct Visa answers please .... please inform me on fiance visa I forgot to clarify, "takes appointments at the Norfolk office on Tuesdays and Thursdays." (He also has bi-lingual paralegals out of Richmond and was referred to me by a much bigger firm, Troutman Sanders, for this reason)

deathnova comments on Direct Visa answers please .... please inform me on fiance visa Colombiano_divino, I also live in/around Norfolk, my immigration attorney is Arturas Overas ( http://www.hyderlaw.com ) . Mr. Overas works out of Richmond and takes appointments at the Norfolk office. His fee is $750.00 for the entire K-1 filing start to finish. I can also help you with any aspects one on one since I usually jump the gun on Mr. Overas and do a lot of the work myself (i'm sending my "Package 3" to the fiancee in Colombia next week).

deathnova comments on Visa to Curacao Mine got an Aruba visa from the Cali consulate listed above. The folks there are pretty helpful and the visa can be issued in just a couple of weeks. She'll need a letter of employment, travel health insurance with proof, and proof of return ticket, lodging and itinerary, and either three months of bank statements showing positive cash flow or about 35 EUR in travelers checks per day that you want the visa to be valid (eg. get 350 EUR in travelers checks and submit with the visa application if you have a 10 day itinerary). They'll be returned to you with the visa and passport. If you're sponsoring the trip also make sure she has a notarized copy of your "cedula" (eg. your provincial ID/DL) and Canadian passport. They may accept your sponsorship in lieu of the employment requirement.

deathnova comments on Finder GPS (Model Finder NL 530 in Colombia) I use a Garmin 76CSx for no BS requirements. I've had it for a couple of years now and it has performed under the harshest environments to include jungles, deserts, and oceans.

deathnova comments on K-1 question I'm in the K-1 process currently. So far i've spent $750 on an attorney, $455 on the USCIS fee, and expect to pay much more in visa fees, med exam fees, lodging/travel, courier fees for your "Package 3" and the visa itself, associated with the trip to Bogota (you generally both must be present to convince the CO to issue the visa). There is also an Adjustment of Status fee once you're in the states and married (< 3 mo.) Expect $2000-3000 total in the end.

deathnova comments on Spoiled American I think not I think you guys fail to realize that a lot of us aren't running around seeing how many Colombianas we can score, it just so happens in many cases that we came across one that we liked. That's it.

deathnova comments on Diamon Rings In Colombia: manlNred, We tried telling him if he had so much money just declare it but that didn't seem to bode well for him thus more suspicion.

deathnova comments on Spoiled American I think not JL, Yeah but there's no flights anywhere in the country except Bogota.

deathnova comments on Spoiled American I think not "Zero but in Colombia they can pick and choose between girls like this:" Get me that one and i'll buy her a $15k engagement ring just as soon as I can figure out how to sneak it past customs!

deathnova comments on "Certificado del DAS"? Clearly, but the State Dept. keeps a list of what documents each country provides and what they entail.

deathnova comments on Diamon Rings In Colombia: Let me put it to you this way, I very seriously doubt that you chose the name "nbenjamin" because it sounded cool. The only Benjamin's admitted to the CA bar are much older than you.
