davidyamiga comments on Exit Colombia with a minor - important questions

PCL...I know you don't want me friend, but Gator is one of the nicest guys here.

davidyamiga comments on Anyone up for partying in Cali tonight?

oh come on PCL. Even if you have your own "personal hooters" you still look at others!

davidyamiga comments on Where to get a higher end watch fixed in Medellin

Sorry...but since when did Oakley become a high end watch?

davidyamiga comments on Got my numero de cedula today

Beer? YOU are now in COLOMBIA! Drink aguardiente!

davidyamiga comments on Just rented an apartment in Cali...

Welcome to Cali...even if it is for a few days. We are having some excellent weather!

davidyamiga comments on Anyone up for partying in Cali tonight?

WOW!!! PCL recommended Hooters? I better call an ambulance before I have a heart attack!

davidyamiga comments on Email Urban Legend or not

One way to find out the truth...tell your husband to try it and see what happens.

davidyamiga comments on Exit Colombia with a minor - important questions

It sounds to me like a hard luck story. I think you will be hard pressed to get the father to allow permission for the child to travel. Odds are almost nil. Offer him a few million pesos and hope for the best.

davidyamiga comments on Flights from Medellin to San Juan, PR

Isn't swimming the cheapest alternative? Especially at Christmas time. Otherwise, the tix could set you back around $ 700.

davidyamiga comments on Dollar still hovering around 2000, consider it a blessing!

I use BankAtlantic. For every withdrawal, I get a $ 2 flat fee and .008 charge. The best I could find, outside of Fidelity.

davidyamiga comments on Flights from Medellin to San Juan, PR

I agree with Yummy. A cheaper alternative is to swim!

davidyamiga comments on Shopping In Cali

Bender...there is no way that you will find US pricing outside of the US. You can order it online in the US and send it via a carrier. There are many who ship to Cali on a daily basis. I have shopped in La 14 and found most items that I consume in the US.

davidyamiga comments on How do you call the letter V

I have heard W as doble V. And the same for V pequena and UV

davidyamiga comments on Still searching for aromatica de coca

Go to Ecuador...

davidyamiga comments on Private Message

PA q yore!

davidyamiga comments on The "Must Have" christmas gift for your colombiana this year ...

I would rather just send Western Union. No fuzz. No hazzle. And the lady loves it!

davidyamiga comments on Private Message

Why not? After all, she is communicating with her gringo husband!

davidyamiga comments on What Does "Bill" Mean?

More like VILE

davidyamiga comments on

My house is SOOO small that my bedroom is as big as a hot tub! Where would I put a bath tub?

davidyamiga comments on Yerba Mate in Santa Marta?

PCL...he is asking where to find in SM, and not in Miama!

davidyamiga comments on income tax in colombia?

I would like to throw a monkeywrench...I am in similar situation as HAGH, but I do not own any companies. I work for a US company and get paid in the USA. Taxes get withheld and I pay the IRS. However, I live in Colombia. The money I make I spend in Colombia. Since I pay taxes in USA, I do not have to pay in Colombia?

davidyamiga comments on Telephone problem..curious...

Get her an internet connection, then a VOIP.

davidyamiga comments on Going to Colombia by train?

mcheasley...gee, will your friend allow me to leave my car there? I am looking for a place to my car for a month the end of December.

davidyamiga comments on Going to Colombia by train?

That is correct. You can take the Tri Rail or the Metrorail. Then you can take a bus to the airport.

davidyamiga comments on 2-way ignore

Desi...today is Friday the 13th!

davidyamiga comments on Question about usage of "Mi Corazón"

She probably calls me 'MI CORACHINCHITO!

davidyamiga comments on 2-way ignore

HUH?

davidyamiga comments on 2-way ignore

double ignore. Ma gets carried away sometimes and assumes that everyone can understand.

davidyamiga comments on Engagement ring

I am glad my honey does not read these posts! She would ask for a $ 10,000 ring. I am willing to give her a 10,000 peso ring!

davidyamiga comments on Engagement ring

The duty is 28%.

davidyamiga comments on Question about usage of "Mi Corazón"

At first, I used to get angry when my Colombianita say Mi amor/Mi corazon/Mi amorzote to anyone. Her brother. Her friends, male and female. Her uncles. She explained to me that is what happens in Colombia. So once she overheard me saying "sweetie" to the customer service lady I have been dealing for over 9 years, and it was like a did something terribly wrong! Of course, my explanation got me now where.

davidyamiga comments on hoy jueves noviembre 12 DIA SIN CARRO

My trash truck plays christmas music!

davidyamiga comments on Blackberry Tour De Venta por $900,000 (NUEVO)

That is probably it! I mean who in here speaks Spanish? May be chavez should post in the Spanish Poor but happy!

davidyamiga comments on 14 year old girl shot 3 times in the head leaving school

ryken...you such a bearer of good news! Don't tell me this kind of stuff does not happen where you live.

davidyamiga comments on Recommendations for banks and foreign money transfers?

Colombiando...While they have the same name, they are different corporations due to different laws. Colombia has different laws than USA. If you are a Colombian, you would have no problem opening an account, similar to what you do in USA. If a Colombian went to USA to open a bank account, they would enocunter similar problems.

davidyamiga comments on hoy jueves noviembre 12 DIA SIN CARRO

You know what I did not miss? The LOUD motorcycles.

davidyamiga comments on Any Personal Recommendations for Salsa Clubs in Cali?

Lefty...most "safe" clubs close at 2 am, but if you want late night clubs, you need to go to Juanchito. They open at 10 pm and close at 7 am. However, I would not recommend since it is not safe. We have gone to Mengo;s a couple of times, but since mi Colombianita is from Caloto, we sometimes go there or Santander.

davidyamiga comments on Mail Forwarding

Those are important documents. I would definitely send Fed/Ex or some type of courier.

davidyamiga comments on hoy jueves noviembre 12 DIA SIN CARRO

It is great day without cars! No noise pollution. No honking. Wish they could do it more often.

davidyamiga comments on Engagement ring

Absolutely not! Like I always say, ASK. The only thing you lose by asking is nothing.

davidyamiga comments on Advice needed, I want to hire somebody, but others member on PBH are against it?

Darloup...we use empleada. May be in Cali is different terminology. We learn something new everyday.

davidyamiga comments on Mail Forwarding

What exactly are you sending? Are you speaking of regular mail?

davidyamiga comments on Advice needed, I want to hire somebody, but others member on PBH are against it?

Ask yourself...is this the right person for the job? Can I trust this person to do the job? Is this person agreeable to perform the function you ask for the pay you are offering? If yes, then do it.

davidyamiga comments on Best way to send money to colombia!

Moneygram is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest. You can go to CVS/Wal-Mart and takes less than 5 minutes. You can then call your friend and can go just about anywhere in Colombia. If your friend has Bancolombia account, xoom.com is also fast. Within 10 minutes of you sending the money, they will have the funds in their account.

davidyamiga comments on Interior Painting Cost

I had a two floor apartment painted for 1,500,000. It is about 200 square meters. I did not supply a thing. Had different shades of paint for different walls.

davidyamiga comments on Engagement ring

Brians...excellent sense of humor! I bought my Colombianita an emerald set on a white gold band. She was very happy with it. Scotico...Just carry the ring with you. No need to declare anything. You can put it in your pocket. You can put on your finger. If customs asks you, say it is your grandmother's ring. Or it is used. Chances are they will not even know or even find out. If you want to give the ring to your girl with the box, send the box in your checked bag.
