davidfounds comments on lost cedula

how to replace a lost or stolen cedula 1. as quickly as possible go to a poliece station, tell the poliece what happend and fill out the lost or stolen cedula form

2. go to DAS, bring the lost stolen cedula form, your pasport, three pictures 3X4, bend over and pay the 110,000 COP replacement fee and fill out the form you get at the DAS office.

3. after a few hours of waiting they gave me a temporary cedula, which is an unlaminated piece of paper with my picture glued to it. They told me to go back in 2 months for the plastic replacement

davidfounds comments on About Fumigations in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

composition of Agent Green I have been doing a little research on the anti drug spraying and I want to clarity something. From everything I find online the only information I can find about agent green (fusarium oxysporum EN-4) is that the certian people in the us gov wanted to use it. I could not find any information about it actually being used in Colombia. I found tons of info about the spraying with Glyphosate (roundup) mixed with some Cosmo Flux 411F (surfactant). If someone knows of fusarium oxysporum actually being sprayed I would be interested in where you found your information. I also found no information about PEOA (which is another surfactant) being sprayed. Someone higer up in this thread refered to agent green as an mixture of (fusarium oxysporum EN-4, Glyphosate, Cosmo Flux 411F and PEOA) I couldent varify this in any way.
To clarify some symantics agent green aprently refers to (fusarium oxysporum EN-4) which is a human modified fungus. What is actually being used in Colombia presently is a mixture of water, Glyphosate (roundup), and Cosmo Flux 411F (a surfactant used to break the surface tension of the water so the glyphosate can maxamize plant damage (this is laundry detergent works to remove dirt on your clothing)). Anyway, I am fully against the spraying. I just wanted to see if anyone had some input on this. Dave

davidfounds comments on Fly Fishing

fishing in el Parque National Los Nevados I was in El Parque National Los Nevados (near Manaziles) over Semana Santa and saw large (8-16 inch) rainbow trout feeding at the south end of La Laguna Ottun. During what is supposed to be the busiest part of the year there I saw no one fishing. I was kicking myself for leaving my pole in the states.Dave

davidfounds comments on Ola cell phone - anyone know about WAP services?

ola cell phone I was not totally clear about all your questions, but here is my best shot. If you have a cell phone that uses sim cards(assuming it is compatable with one of the three cell service providers here )you can bring your phone here and all you need to buy is the sim card.(arround 20 USD ) This will give you a Colombian cell phone number. At this point you will have two options. Prepaid or monthly fee for a finite amount of minutes. All the cell service providers here allow you to call to others with different cell services although it will be more expensive to phones using different services) For example. I have an OLA phone. It costs me around 300 colombian pesos(cop) a minute to call OLA phones and around 900 (cop) to call comcell or bell south phones. All the prepaid phones here accept incoming calls for free. Hope this helps. David

davidfounds comments on bus schedule for bogota?

thanks Thanks for the assistance, someone or some company should make a bus route map, I would buy one, and I know lots of Colombians that would probably pick one up too. Chao. Dave
