Peter (Moderator) (Trustee board) (Dev team) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Jun 13, 2008, 02:50: The American governement prohibits it. So you can't take a plane directly to Cuba straight from the US, as far as I understand. You can however go to Canada or Mexico first, and go through there. Poor but snappy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

august says on Jul 11, 2008, 13:24: Technically I believe the law is not that (US) Americans cannot go to Cuba, it is that they are prohibited from doing any form of commerce with Cuban entities. If an (US) American can find someway to get there for free and never contribute a penny to the Cuban gov´t, then I´m pretty sure they haven´t broken any US law.

ronaldo says on Jul 11, 2008, 18:19: Sandman0011 and august are both correct in as much as they say that it is not illegal for an American citizen to go to Cuba, it is only illegal to spend money there. Stupid but true. All winter there are direct flights from Canada to Cuba at great prices to all inclusive resorts. One price covers everything, air, hotel, food and lodging. And great deals too.
