...who is familiar with (and has conexiones within) the Colombian textile industry, more specifically in women's lingerie. I am looking for large volume purchases at "factory-direct" prices. Here's why: For the past six weeks, I have been travelling extensively and conducting informal "imported wish-list" surveys with practically every Venezuelan local (children, men, and women) I encountered... basically in search of a niche market to exploit (what did you expect??? I'm an American, after ...
I am looking to buy pesos colombianos with venezuelan bolos...I know what the official exchange rate is between the two currencies, but could someone tell me what the "real-deal" is, regarding this type of transaction in Colombia???? ...
Hello everyone! I'm down here in El tigre, Venezuela on a new teaching assignment, living rent free, making an American salary in dollars, enjoying cheap gas prices (70 b's por litro...and I just bought a gas-guzzling ford explorer) and excellent exchange rate (black market is at 4.800 right now, but I found an American petrolero who'll buy my dollars for 5 mil al dolar). Plus, there are beautiful morenitas por todos lados. So yes, this gringo is definitely getting his "latinamerican fix" and ha ...
I have heard of a lot of different ways to make a michelada (beer with...???) in my travels. In Envigado, I found out that it just consists of a cold beer, lime, and salt (this combo is a mere chela when "hecho en Mexico"). Are there other versions in Colombia? To me, an authentic michelada consists of 7 ingredients...any reasonable guess what they would be??? Also, what would be your "birra preferida" when making one??? ...
For those of you who have your reservations or doubts about the existence of God, I would like to show you just a few examples in today's news of his miraculous and merciful work: 1) "Woman lives after pickup falls 150 feet." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070806/ap_on_re_us/mountain_rescue;_ylt=Aq9DZHiLAO9yVd3.z5V5n9xvzwcF 2)"Girl survives after being shot execution-style in the head" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070806/ap_on_re_us/schoolyard_killings;_ylt=AoO4bOP4FPEkr2KaLUW0xsBH2ocA ...
Just curious...is there a potential demand for an International School geared toward accommodating the children of affluent locals, expats, diplomats, or international business people in the "land of eternal spring???" The reason why I ask is because I work for a relatively large, educational (non-profit) organization that has 37 private schools in 26 countries (Colombia is not one of them as of yet) and is always looking to expand. All classes are taught in English (intensive English instructi ...
If you are fluent in English (accents no problem; fluent in other languages a definite plus), have a sales background and excellent phone skills, then this could be the ticket for you...working as an International Executive Recruiter for a premier executive search firm, headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA. Because this is a pure-commission position, you will need enough reserves to support yourself for the first 60-90 days (this is the average ramp-up time before closing your first deal, and fill ...
If it weren't for the self-serving attitudes of Colombian men and American women, then most of us would not a have a reason to post on this forum, discussing topics about visas, travel, relationships, and cultural differences. Instead, we would all be looking in our own back yards to find our soulmates. The fact remains, however, that many colombianos treat their women like a piece of meat, waiting to get tenderized, as much as gringas treat their men like a paycheck, waiting to be cashed in. Th ...
