Crazy Eagle comments on Marriage Woes one more thing That was a funny comment someone made earlier about introducing her to Morphy! She sounds like just the sort of medicine that arrogant ape needs.
Crazy Eagle comments on Marriage Woes Document her insane behavior in as many ways as possible before going to court - audio tape, video, witnessess other than her family. That is the key to getting custody and minimizing the financial hit you will take.

Crazy Eagle comments on Hola de Cali Cartagena, Medellin, or Manizales Cartagena has a lot of historical things to explore. Medellin is supposedly very interesting, and Manizales is picturesque university town.

Crazy Eagle comments on Strategies for dating "good" Colombianas statistically ... THere was a study done, trying to find out what age diff is best in a marriage. The standard used was divorce rate. They found that older the woman was over the man the higher the rate of divorce. The lowest divorce rate was for men 7-10 years older than the woman.

Crazy Eagle comments on Can colombianas predict the future? Well, when our forefathers return and see what a mess we have made of the place ...
Crazy Eagle comments on Can colombianas predict the future? remember Lincoln Don't go, Elmo. Remember that dream Lincoln had about being assasinated? History is full of pre-cognitive dreams. But, there is also evidence that these are dreams of what might happen, not what will happen. In other words, they are more like warnings from the future, not previews.

Crazy Eagle comments on Colombian culture and diamond rings diamonds a marketing scam The most successful campagin in the history of business. De Boors started it all. Diamonds are NOT rare - they are just shiny rocks. De Boors buys up diamond minds and shuts most of them down, to keep the rocks off the market so that the price remains high. In places like Siera Leone different groups kill each other for control of the mines. In many European countries married people just wear a plain ring - no shiny rock. Remember that Simpson episode where Skinner falls for Homer's sister in law? He goes to the diamond store and the clerk tells him "a good rule of thumb is three years salary." Yeesh.

Crazy Eagle comments on education level in Colombia, various cities Sounds great amigos! Any thoughts on Cali?
Crazy Eagle comments on Viva el Sistema Postal Colombiano! going postal Whoo! Glad to see this post is not about what I thought it might be about. I don't want to read about Colombianos going postal.
Crazy Eagle comments on education level in Colombia, various cities OK, what about Cali? Gracias amigo. Barranquilla sounds like a great place in many ways. Any thoughts on the level of education in Cali?
Crazy Eagle comments on What is Manizales like? paisas Are Manizaleans considered paisas? I thought Medellin was in a different department.
Crazy Eagle comments on What is Manizales like? Is it sunny most of the time? What's the culture and racial mix? Gracias.
Crazy Eagle comments on Do any foreigners ever marry a colombian and then live in Colombia? go native Dude, check my post called "would you go native?" Many have, many would.
Crazy Eagle comments on Bogota weather gracias! Gracias amigas and amigos! Bogota sounds like a fun place to visit, but because of the weather I will restrict my search to Medellin, Cali, and ... well, what about Bucaramanga? Sunny place?
Crazy Eagle comments on Lets Talk Cartagenta and Costal cities beach dress code Just out of curiousity - how do most Colombians dress on the beach? As revealing as Brazilians? Or more like North Americans?

Crazy Eagle comments on Finally saw my first real crime in Medellin this weekend look the other way?!? How about calling the cops?
Crazy Eagle comments on an unexpectied trip to Cartagena This is very strange, I see nothing at all wrong with your name. Perhaps I am missing something here ...
Crazy Eagle comments on Finally saw my first real crime in Medellin this weekend actually ... Spig wrote: "But what I thought was interesting is the guy with the gun obviously had no clue how to handle it. If I were a robber, I´d jam the gun in your back or at the back of your head."

Crazy Eagle comments on Colombian women having second thoughts GIB wrote: "Many of them are bored to death here and who can blame them. It is the same small place everywhere you go. Same music, same food, same dance, same people. The biggest reason I have found for people leaving is that they were bored."

Crazy Eagle comments on I think most gringos dont like living in bogota grey versus blue I have heard many positive things about Bogota, but have also heard that it is overcast more often than not. Personally, I need blue skies.
Crazy Eagle comments on In my opinion Xpert opinion I have NEVER seen another gringo in Bogota.
Crazy Eagle comments on The real scoop on Colombia. . Colombiche has an out here.... She asked for "the name of a country where natives and blacks have political power and live in the best neighborhoods", so that would exclude countries where 99.9% of the population are natives and blacks, because in these countries there are not even nearly enough whites to run the shop. Giving places like Haiti as examples is kind of like pointing to some hell-hole reservation as a place where American Indians have political power and live in the best shacks.
Crazy Eagle comments on gringos, tenga cuidado! Politically Incorrect I used to LOVE that show, until Bill Mahr struck a raw nerve after 9-11 and lost his show :-(

Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought I think its an undiscovered jewel that just needs a bit of cutting & polishing.
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought Mario & Colombiche Also Desi & WorldCitizen too. That brings the total up to 5.
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought Aguila Loca no entiende muy bien I wish Colombians would post in English for the benefit of us ignorant gringos who have not yet mastered the language. Otherwise I think I'm getting accused of "speaking sweepings on Colombianas".
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought Colombiche, what?!? Since no entiendo mucho Espanol, I had to use Babelfish to translate your message:
Crazy Eagle comments on Teacher of 8 yrs moving to Bogota in June Teresa, send me a private message and I will pass on some info to you.
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought depends on how you were raised? I agree Mario, and I did say that I'm sure there are good poor girls too. I'm just repeating what a nice Colombiana told me - that I should avoid dating very poor Colombianas because they are more likely to see me as a meal ticket or a plane ticket.
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought One Colombian woman I know advised me to simply not date very poor Colombian women. Her advice was to only date educated ambitious chicas. Now, I am sure there are good poor girls too, but I would have much less in common with them. But if I was dating one of them and she asked for $$$, I would be suspicious and ask why she needed it. Then, instead of giving her money, I would buy what she needed, or otherwise make sure that it was spent on what she said - food, medicine, education - and not on fancy clothes and parties.
Crazy Eagle comments on No need for advice but a thought tell the guy Yeah Mestizo, you were warned about her, and now you can return this favor to the universe. Keep it kind but straightforward and simple.
Crazy Eagle comments on Best restaurants in Cartagena? Do they have McDonalds in Cartagena? Why don't you try that one?
Crazy Eagle comments on cant wait see you on the coast Seven months from now I hope to be there as an ex patriate. "la costa caribe colombiana....que hermosa y sabrosa... tragos de ron medellin and a Freezing aguilita helada ... el monte with un sancocho delicioso" that and MORE?!?

Crazy Eagle comments on Racism discussion at a COL university BY COL students multi-cultural I grew up in Canada, and in university knew a lot of people from different countries. One of my best drinking buddies was from Kenya. When I moved to California I lived in an area with perhaps 20-30% blacks (mostly yuppies) and noted many times how blacks seemed surprised that I would converse with them completly relaxed as though it were nothing unusual.

Crazy Eagle comments on Xmas in Bogota Try & Save "In honor of our saviour we will be open on Christmas day."
Crazy Eagle comments on Xmas in Bogota I don't know what it is like in Bogota but in San Francisco it is awesome! In Union Square they erect a giant pine tree about 200 feet tall (I'm not kidding) and decorate it with huge green & gold & purple decorations the size of a basketball. Christmas music plays everywhere. What an incredible city. One Christmas eve I gave a homeless woman who petitioned me five dollars. She looked like a junkie, but hey it was Christmas.

Crazy Eagle comments on colombians eyes then all of us should be wearing shades with UVA & UVB protection. My grandmother has cataracts, and I sure as hell don't want them.
Crazy Eagle comments on Montreal and Colombia comparison gracias Gracias for the heads up, lads. Bogota sounds more like a weekend getaway place for me, rather than a home base - if I do in fact relocate to Colombia.
Crazy Eagle comments on Montreal and Colombia comparison sunshine How much of it do you see in Bogota? Are blue skies the exception rather than the rule? Is it overcast and grey more often than not?
Crazy Eagle comments on Montreal and Colombia comparison Glad to hear it. Do they all Glad to hear it Kernow. Do they all drive like maniacs too?
Crazy Eagle comments on The new "look" - what the hell! :) logging in It would be nice if logging in were easier. For instance, if the log in boxes were at the top, and if the cursor was already in the first box automatically. This is easy to do, in visual basic, at least.
Crazy Eagle comments on Medellin is deeply missed poser hypocritico I'm not sure if anyone has to get bored in Colombia and head for the USA. What about spending a few days in Bogota? Its a big city. Or heading to Cartagena for the heat and the beach? Then there is the Dominican Republic, Cuba, cities like Rio, Buenos Airies, and more.
Crazy Eagle comments on Colombians - The most educated hispanics in the US welcome back Colombiche Nice to have you back. I plan on teaching in Colombia, so I have an interest in this topic. Stick around, and don't let the negative posters get you agravated.
