Ok, I did my due diligence and googled medellin hotels and areas of Poblado, and read the postings here. So here are my findings, and if you can enlighten me as to my preferences of being able to walk to the action and a gymnasium in the area of Poblado (I can handle hills) I would appreciate the input. I have a list 4 hotels, but all can't be so conveniently located can they?
1) Hotel Belford - Some mentioned that you can walk to the nightlife using this hotel as a vantag ...
I'm an active cyclist here in the US. Are there places to rent performance road bikes in the aforementioned cities. I think touring an area by bicycle, is a great way to see the local sights.
I am also interested in gymnasiums that I can use on a short-term basis for early morning workouts.

I am considering a trip to Medellin mid-january from EEUU. I have a friend who is from that area and speaks highly of the region and of course the women. I intend to stay in Sector Poblado (don't know much about this area). I have 12 days, but am open to other areas of Colombia or South America if opportunities arise. Or perhaps January is not a good time to visit.
