Coqueton comments on More Kfirs for Colombia When I first read the topic I thought, "Don't they already have kaffirs" but then realized it was about planes. You have to admit, at first glance it appears the same thing / word.

Coqueton comments on Cartagena Beaches When are you going to be there? I'll be there March 13 to the 24th. I may be free from some of the time and want to dive and soak up the sun but I also like to be a pimp, 100% bilingual here.

Coqueton comments on Would have been more fun to promise it all, turn her inside out, take nasty photos and then send them to her friends. you need to be more selective. Oh well, I have one word for you... NEXT! There are tons of girls that are hot and nice in Colombia. Instead of a 9.999 try an 8.9 or a diamond in the rough.

Coqueton comments on Colombian Films I got recently Soñar no cuesta nada about a bunch of soldiers who find millions of dollars in stashes FARC money in the jungle.

Coqueton comments on Which is the Best airline Avianca Or Copa ? I think Avianca is better as the jets seemed newer, the Copa jet from Panama to Cartagena, well reminded me of a flying chiva rumbera but was palatable for 30 minutes. And no vallenato band on board

Coqueton comments on I was a fool for a Colombiana Also, without mentioning anybody as I´m no psychic, I think a few others here are in trouble. Love or the perception of being in love blinds one. But the reality I´ve found is if you aren´t hot and the other party is and you both really don´t speak the other´s language pretty darned good then you are being deceived about over 80% of the time.

Coqueton comments on I was a fool for a Colombiana All long distance has its challenges and in the real world doesn´t work, well maybe in the Phillipines it has a higher percentage of working. What do they say, amor de lejos, son pendejos?

Coqueton comments on Girlfriend Robbed Again..... Thread was resurrected when I noticed I and another shared the same girl and she told each of us a different story. I didn´t know he was a poster until i read the older threads and said wow, and alot was being filled in time wise.

Coqueton comments on Girlfriend Robbed Again..... Be nice to him, please. I didn´t mean to drag him into it all, was just thinkin of it last night and feelin crappy. Don´t know why. Oh well, goin back to Mexico in a few days and have some dates lined up there with girls who have visas. It will be nice to have a distraction.

Coqueton comments on Girlfriend Robbed Again..... Well my post wasn´t random nor accidental. My vote is scammed, yes I was too, by same person. I´ll post a bit later with how I was duped. now I´ll never even think of dating long distance. I do love the Colombianas but wouldn´t date one unless she lived close.

|
Coqueton comments on Girlfriend Robbed Again..... She wasn´t robbed in Colombia, it was Venezuela. Don´t ask how I know but this is a small world. We were both played.

Coqueton comments on Bogota flight to Cartagena I've bought internal flights online from Avianca buying from the US but they may call to phone verify the first time.
|
|
Coqueton comments on I have never traveled to another country. From U.S. Where are you going in Colombia?
|
|
Coqueton comments on Money off Shore Just don´t list a US address for statements or get a credit card tied to the account. That´s a way to get caught. Also be aware that some jurisdictions require letters of credit or reference for opening accounts. Its not like the US where you walk in and open an account. also cash deposits over $4,000US may not be acceppted.

Coqueton comments on Cali Gun Permit Doesn´t the 7.62x39 wobble as it flies and that will cause much more damage than the fast and straight flying .223?

|
Coqueton comments on divorce part 2 A few ideas... Why the rush to divorce? Is another girl waiting to marry you? Well many states have residency requirements for filing divorce. If your concern is to stop the financial bleeding, you could file for legal separation in the US and serve her and say its not divorce. Then after being in the jurisdiction 6 months you can convert the separation into a divorce as you´ve been there 6 months and then you control everything as it will be a US divorce. Then its pretty much automatic. Try that.

Coqueton comments on by far..the most boring question ever posted here If you make it region free there shouldn´t be a problem, that´s the real issue. US is region 1 and latinamerica region 4. Mexico is also region 4 so you can test it there, a bit closer!

Coqueton comments on miami layover Go to Bayside outdoor mall. There is usually live music and lots of things to see. I've killed hours there on long layovers, usually overnighters where we go there until 4am and thenback to the airport to check in for the flight. It is $20 cab ride from the airport to there. There was a luggage check in / guarding at miami as well.

Coqueton comments on First Time to Cartagena I posted my trip report and included quite a few things as it was my first time. You can probably search and find it, I went last month for 11 days.

Coqueton comments on Colombian music They were playing "Pasame la Botella" by Match and Daddy Yankee all the time in January.

Coqueton comments on Is this Spanish punctuation or a Colombian thing? I don´t think they really care much about spelling. I´m not much of a stickler on informal communiques such as email and chat where you can omit the tildes and accents. I tease my girl when she says valla and I say a valla is a fence and vaya is from the verb ir. Sometimes I won´t say a things and will write to her "que vueno que escrives vien." She then gets the point or I'll simply write "ortografía amor." She is 2nd year at the U but somehow she says they never make them learn how to spell properly. She says I spell better because I learned the written Spanish language at the same time as oral and she learned oral first. I think it is an issue of the quality of education. I think they need or should be a bit more strict with spelling in the secondaria and prepa as well as the U.

Coqueton comments on The Ugly Truth: Jobs in Cali And do you have any qualifications other than speaking English as your first language? I've found that many Colombians don't speak English and few have a need to so i'm not surprised that there is low demand as well.

Coqueton comments on Offshore investment funds Just be careful as many countires have been forced to sign tax treaties, thanks to the USA, EU and OECD. Also there is backup withholding on stock ownership starting in 1999 unless you sign a W-8 for American Stock Exchanges. If you have a sizeable sum, then a resident company in a low tax jurisdiction may be right for you. You may wish to travel and interview a few law firms in each jurisdiction. I am familiar with Cayman although feel they have sold out which has raised the cost of doing business.

Coqueton comments on Trip Report - Cartagena. January 2006 Pay? I never have to pay, I was quoting what i was told and those were the gals in Cúcuta. I didn´t notice many in CTG although one night I saw a few that might be as well as any girl with the Italians as they spoke no spanish and weren´t the best looking guys.

Coqueton comments on I will be in Cartagena on Feb 18-27 can anyone recommend Eateries... and nightlife... I just got back tonight from 11 days there. When in doubt as what to do at night, you can always do the chiva rumbera. Some other night spots are Mr. Babillas, Babar and Cafe del Mar and the other one next to the Naval museum and it is outside on top of the wall.

|
Coqueton comments on Dress Code for Colombia If you are gay... Well in latinamerica, only gay guys wear shorts unless you are on the beach. Wearing shorts screams tourist or gay. It can be 200 degrees but most males will wear long pants unless on the sand or by the pool.

Coqueton comments on Perros??? I'm not talking about the Paulina Rubio song (but maybe I am) but that is how many Colombian girls describe the men. I've seen a large number of fatherless households. It doesn't speak well for the men there but in all fairness if I was surrounded by kind, beautiful girls 24/7, then maybe I'd stray as well, especially if it wasn't really frowned upon.

Coqueton comments on East Coast US She lives in Philly, I in Jalisco and California. We met when she moved from Colombia. Had a blast but the distance thing and her family was nice but didn't like that we partied too much.

Coqueton comments on Well.. I've only dated 2 caleñas and 2 others but they were in the US. I´ll soon be in Cartagena with my Ocañera. They are fun and nice and super hot. I am fluent in Spanish so maybe your mileage will vary. My one caleña was 17 years younger than me and we got along great and are still good friends although I am on the West Coast and in Mexico and she is on the East coast.
