Colombian Services comments on Bringing my wife to the U.S. for vacation mranderson, My situation is pretty much the same, I live in Colombia and at the moment have no plans to live in the U.S. About 4-6 months before I was married (2 yrs. ago last April) my wife applied for a tourist visa just on a hope of possibly receiving one, explaining the whole nine yards, marrying a Gringo living in Colombia BLA, BLA, BLA, the visa was denied and my wife was told to come back after we were married. She went back about 3 months after the wedding with all of our marriage documents, my visa & me. The visa was approved. Yesterday, she was at a visa appointment for tourist visas for her two children, age 9 & 18, both were approved. Next week, I'm filing for a CR-1 visa for the wife and kids with consulate filing here in Bogota, I will need to do this anyway in the future, but now the filing fee is $190.00, July 31st. the fee increases to $355.00, not knowing how long it will take was the reason just to go ahead and file for tourist visas for the kids. My Internet has been down for the past week, and may be down again Monday, but feel free to PM me if you need any other info.

Colombian Services comments on Happy Birthday - United States of America GringoInBogota, My exact thought was Robin Williams??? But sure had a lot of good points. As for illegal immigration; Maricopa County AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio has the right idea, if an illegal is busted in his county they go to jail, one bleeding heart made the comment he doesn't have enough jail space, his reply, I'll set up tents from Phoenix to the Mexican border. It's a real slap in the face when a warrant for a traffic ticket can be put out for a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant, while illegals get away with DUI's and more. Not that way here, we go through hoops with the DAS to stay legal, but I'm happy to do so. Don't like to rant about this on a Colombia board, but it really pisses me off.

Colombian Services comments on Happy Birthday - United States of America GringoInBogota, What you stated; "Maybe it is time the world start worrying about how the US thinks about them" reminded me of an e-mail (below) I received several years ago. Happy 4th. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Robin Williams perfect plan to secure our freedom and future. The only thing not addressed is a solution for the MANY Americans that are offering sympathy to the terrorist by trying to: ● Tying the hands of our government. ● Demonstrate against our government and the brave young men and women that chose freely to serve in the U.S. armed forces for our protection. This includes the UCLA that prefers to protect the terrorist by using our own U.S. Constitution with no regards to the future of our freedom and safety. How can any good loyal American disagree with this logic? Robin Williams's plan... "I see a lot of people yelling for peace, but I have not heard of a plan for Peace. So, here's one plan. 1) "The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know: Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good ole boys;' we will never 'interfere' again. 2) "We will withdraw our troops from al l over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence. 3) "All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days, the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them. 4) "All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers. 5) "No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a D, and its back home. 6) "The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy-wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy, but will require temporary drilling for oil in the Alaska wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while. 7) "Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil-producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.) 8) "If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah, or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement, or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything. 9) "Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair-weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens. 10) "All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE."
