ColombianitaintheUSA comments on Whatever happened to Platano? Elmo=Posada=Claudia or whatever you want to call yourself these days; I really suggest you that next time you try to trash me at least get your facts straight. I am from Bucaramanga, not from Bogotá and I am married to a wonderful man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania not to a honky southern white trash. Needless to say that I am glad to see your alter-ego, or alter-egoS gone from Cblog. Atte Katt, yes THE Katt.

ColombianitaintheUSA comments on Rock Al Parque Bogotá Never a dull day I don't think Bogota is a mecca of world culture but it is definitely a city with a very bohemian artsy feel to it. There are good museums and cultural events around the city. Even in the mundane. Just sit in la plaza de bolivar and listen to cuenteros or watch the mimes wreaking havoc. That IS culture--Colombiche I agree with you Colombiche, but we must keep in mind that in order to enjoy a nice session of cuenteria, teather or even puppets in Bogotá, one must have certain domain in spanish. Obviously a gringo that had been living in Colombia around 5 years and still doesn't come close to have a survival spanish, like GIB, will never quite experience what the culture, the city or even the country has to offer. He will never quite understand the beauty of out country at all, not while all he has to do to fill up his days is bitch and moan about the good old days and how things are so much different in Colombia compared to the USA, because he can't have a decent conversation with an artist in the middle of the Chorro de Quevedo or enjoy Cuenteros in the Parque Nacional or Titeres in la Universidad Nacional. Oh boy, tsk tsk tsk.

ColombianitaintheUSA comments on Need some help over here Why? Because another Canuck with delirium of grandeur tells me so?.....riiiiight. *rolls eyes once again* I am sick and tired of people like you that think they know Colombia. Dude! just because you had visit or had lived there a few years (whatever your story is, not that I care) does mean you know squat about it or have any right to school me about my own land. Why don't you just leave my thread like your friend DumbGringo did.

ColombianitaintheUSA comments on a few travel questions La Candelaria I really don't remember the name of that restaurant but this is how to get there. Go to the main entrance of the Luis Angel Arango Library in la candelaria, position yourself looking east (at los cerros) and go up that road, you are going to see it on your right hand side, is diagonal to the library, that place is simply delicious. The other one I recomend is called "Cafe Color Cafe" in the Chorro de Quevedo in la candelaria.

ColombianitaintheUSA comments on a few travel questions The best diving.... Try Playa Brava (around the Tairona area) is a beautiful place, the hike is a bit hard but you can get there by boat as well (personally I really enjoyed the hike) and you can stay in the EcoCabins there. BTW the Arroz con coco is awesome there. Playa Brava remember!!!.

ColombianitaintheUSA comments on Need some help over here Maybe... The bum in you dream was you, and the you go bragging of the dollars and euros you spend there...lol...and I don't need you...a Canadian welcoming ME and MY family to MY OWN COUNTRY!!!. FYI he does not need a visa, he needs a Cedula de Extranjeria which can be obtained very easily, his only obstacule is the language, and that can be quickly resolve by taking classes in an University while there, in the other hand your stupidity and rudeness will last forever...*feeling sorry for you*. And again...keep your comments to yourself, I don't need them nor do I want them.

So I guess I am taking a well paid job that an American could have by staying here?....no, wait!....the sole purpose of us moving to Colombia is taking a job away from a colombian....yeah that must be it....And maybe, just maybe my husband does not speak spanish YET because we are fairly recently married....hmmmm so many things to consider, but no! lets start judging without knowing the facts, yeah that oughta make the world better place to live!!!..Oi!
