The Laguna de Guatavita is a beautiful, circular lake that was the sakred lake of the Muisca Indians. This is where the myth of "El Dorado" was born: a lake filled with gold by the Indians. The town of Guatavita is close to the lake. It's a nice day-trip from Bogota.
